If (hypothetically) the Pens are ready to give up on Jarry, and make him a backup until the offseason and then buy him out, I could see something around Forsberg and Sogaard for Nedeljkovic maybe?

Pens run with one of Blomqvist, Forsberg or Sogaard - whomever is playing the best - and then Jarry as the backup. The other 2 guys are the #3 and #4 callup guys (waivers necessary for Forsberg). Next season the Pens have Blomqvist and Sogaard after Forsberg leaves as a UFA and Jarry is bought out.

Ottawa has Ullmark Nedeljkovic for 1.5 seasons and then Ullmark Merilainen after that.

Forsberg was not signed as a strict backup. He was coming off a very good season as our #1 when he was signed (22-17-4, .917 SVP) and, despite struggling since, has arguably been our best option in net at all times til we acquired Ullmark.

Had he not suffered a major injury, I’d put good money on him having a solid reputatiom right now. He’s not in the same league of “flash in the pan” as Hammond and Condon, and will find work beyond this season imo.
Rs have good vibe and handshake deal w/Quick.
Howev, given current state, if he agreed to be a rental, his HOF pedigree suggests he is yr best fit.
You can presum LTIR Forsberg and go Ul-Q

Rs can start breaking in Garand

As to return, mindful others would add competitive bidding
I think you are looking at like Grieg 1:1

forsberg is an nhl level backup. id look to improve the team around him.
Forsberg is absolutely a weak point on this team, arguably the weakest point.

Doesnt seem like youve been watching at all, and I dont think this is the first or even tenth time, maybe not even the hundredth time someone has said that in response to your “evaluation” of the Sens

Seems like Greig wasnt made available for Ullmark. You are way, way off.

Sens wont be the team to pay big for a backup. I could see something around Forsberg and a mid-prospect or pick… doesnt make sense otherwise. We dont the assets to spend on filling out the bottom of our lineup

seems like a panic response unless ullmark is going to miss a significant amount of time.

Sens have a small handful of positions that we will aim to address before next season, either internally or via trade or FA:
- Backup goalie
- 2/3W
- 3RD

Internal options at backup are Forsberg and Merilainen. I would be fine with extending Forsberg at under $1.5m or so to compete for backup with Merilainen; if not, though, we will need a similar or better goalie. Merilainen-Sogaard as 2/3 is not good enough.

Internal options for middle 6 wing are Giroux, Greig, Pinto, Perron, Amadio, and I suppose Gaudette and Cousins in a pinch. I would like to add a legit 2nd line winger if possible, but don't think we really need a depth upgrade.

Internal options for 3RD are Hamonic, JBD, Matinpalo, and Guenette. Matinpalo had a very good 1st game but I am sort of doubtful that he is a real solution, and I think Hamonic and JBD are more suited as 7 or 8's.

If any of those spots can be accounted for without paying too much, there is no time like the present. I would agree that giving up any significant assets is way too early... I wouldn't really consider moving a truly valuable piece to fill any of these slots until next deadline at the earliest.

I am NOT "way way off".
You are entitled to set the price you'll pay
You are not entitled to set the price demanded

We have zero reason to sell Quick, espec cheap, to anybody
have to have a signif enuf reason, or forget it

This is not a generic run of the mill retread.
This is a HOF winner, had a brief cold run couple yrs ago, found his game under Benoit Allaire, and demonstrated such

you get what you pay for
if you are ambivalent about upgrading backup netminder, fine
if you are serious, you pay the market rate

if you have equiv of quick for less, sure -- but eye test there says no

So the bidding for Quick starts w/Greig or you can stand pat

Show me anything I said that would indicate any interest in Quick, or where anyone has expressed interest in trading anything of value for a backup.

Til then, you are way, way, way, way off.

PS Quick wont return a player of Greigs caliber from any team and under any circumstance. You are free to agree or disagree, but I’m not going to argue with you.

I wouldn't offer anything higher then Tyler Boucher.

I am not way off to any degree
the narrative I said was factually correct
you want or don't want a backup fine
if you do want one of a certain caliber, you have to pay
or accept the consequences of not paying
saying Quick won't return Greig may be true
but no Greig, no Quick is also true

I wouldn't offer anything higher then Tyler Boucher.
I appreciate your polite and constructive 2 cents
offer declined
holding firm at Greig min
