Might as well through it to here. Sorry for being such a dumb dumb. I had a long hiatus and also wasn't really invested waking up at night to watch games, even if I even could. Wasn't so many sources then.

But while I'm resurrected to be a fan again, have been for a while now... could someone just simply explain how the system works. For someone who's been watching and is and an NHL fan. Wild all the division, conference and wild card talk. What's out goal right now? Who needs to lose, who needs to win, that get in even as a wild card?

Sorry if that is the most stupidest thing to hear as a question. Season is getting thinner by the day. Sure, winning after winning for us, it's good. I ain't that dumb but while we now stand, who should I chear for winning? Or who to lose? I know, it's quite a tight race, but in general. For us. What do we need (as well as winning?)?

Some might die of laughter there, but... all changes so fast. And I want to get in! Not in the dying part, just to know how is the best chances for Winnipeg to be in?
The top 3 positions in the Central are all but locked up by St. Louis, Colorado, Dallas. Vegas looks to be pulling away in the Pacific. Those 4 teams are a lock for a playoff spot. That leaves 4 spots remaining. 2 of Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Arizona will get 2nd and 3rd in the Pacific (most likely Vancouver and Edmonton).

That leaves the 2 wildcard spots that the Jets are in a battle for along with 2 of the teams listed above that will be outside the top 3 in the Pacific along with Nashville and Minnesota in the Central. My best advise would be to ignore what St. Louis, Dallas, Colorado and Vegas do as the are locks. Ignore what Chicago, Anaheim, LA, San Jose do as they are too far back. Cheer against Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Arizona and especially cheer against Nashville and Minnesota. And 3 point games involving any of the teams we are fighting with is bad. That should do it.

Excellent summation there, Bogo!

Because of points congestion, Jets really need help from other teams so the ones Jets are competing with (Flames/Preds/?) for a WC spot are beat, and beat often.
Actually all teams around us are in control of their own destiny. IMO it is more about getting to a point total that will lock in a playoff spot. The playoff line will almost certainly be between 91 - 95 points. Get to the low end and we have a shot. Get to the high end we are a lock. If we hit the mid range of 93 points by going 10-5-1 in our last 16 games Sports Club gives us a an 89.8% chance of making the playoffs.

There was a post in which the point was that all criticism disappears when Jets win.

Never seen the situation there are no room for critics. However. Be a Finn Jets fan and come again to say there are no guys 4.30 am local time.

You'll be both wrong and in minority.

I'm a part of that vocal minority who actually appear here at all (in bad or in good). I fight against that BS jinx idea whenever I can (jinxing all I can). When I attend I appear with over 90% certainty as a Finnish chapter's 1%er representative, being highly probably one of the most drunken Jets fans online. That said, I'm also one of those who drop first offline... That does say that I went to a bed.

I don't take it easily at all when that BS is coming from outside, as I am not the first guy who drops out from HF Jets (when I drop out from here, I am the dead one). There are also a company of other Finns (whom I do not represent with this comment), in this NHL chapter.

If we drop out 3.00-4.00 am of local time, no troll can ever come point that out. If that happens, please address @Se829ne before any generalizations. f*** off!

Thank you. True North!

The only point I will debate is there are lots of other really drunk posters too! Welcome to the club.

Somewhere nice
6 pts doesn't sound like much, but it's tough to make up. I think of it this way; assuming the other teams in the mix only go 50/50 in their games, you need a 6 game winning streak to make up that ground. If even one other team gets hot, you gotta win even more.

Yup been saying they got to build a long winning streak.

Cant go win 3 lose 2
Win 2 lose 3 stuff like that.

Example
The 2 losses to Buffalo and Philly.
If those were wins at that moment Jets would been up 3 points on WC1 instead of looking from outside.

Now its very good they got 3 out of 4 against the Capitals.
They got to string another 3-4 wins again before another lose.

Otherwise they may be out by 3rd week of March already

Let's be fair Bourque is better than Hendricks. Roslovic is better now than he was then, Harkins and Appleton are at least as good as Perrault and Armia were and they are also cheaper so it's not a one- shot at the can like it was in 2018. If Samberg and Heinola can help make up for what we lost defensively than we are just back where we started as a contender. True we still are 2 c short but I'm hoping that the growth that we got out of Ehlers Laine and Connor help mitigate that as well as the decline of Wheeler.
I agree and I’m thinking we’ll draft a center this year as well.

To get there we need a PDO lift. We would need Helle to go .930 over the subset of games.......please.........and thank you.

That sure would be nice. We also need Scheifele to keep being dominant and somehow find a way for our makeshift defense to hold it together.

I think Nashville will get in. That leaves us needing to get ahead of one of VAN/CGY/EDM. I think if we can get ahead of one of those teams, we will have done enough to stay ahead of Minnesota. The other consideration is Arizona....but I think they are a longshot.

Rangers fans really crapped on pionk.
They really made us feel like we got robbed in that trade.

He is actually pretty good and fits in rather well here.
Actually, a ton of posters here crapped on Pionk and panned the trade. I was one of them. Shows that an over-reliance on shot metrics without fully understanding context can be misleading. Jets' pro scouts and GM should get some credit for the acquisition.
