For sure - but people are out celebrating through the weekend and the build up to the day itself (at least where I live). Feels like an easy way to get some more sales, wear them a couple times.

I'm not too bothered haha - just wondering what to wear to the game tonight.
I honestly would not complain about them wearing them a couple more times. They are sharp!

Surprised they would do that and make the trade look even worse. Why not play him with Tavares to get him jump started and gain some confidence? Nah, let's just keep running the same line combinations and hope this is the year they work in the playoffs.
I think Berube’s moved him down to the 4th line to take the spotlight off him until he gets adjusted to playing in the glare of the spotlight in Toronto. Going from a non contender to the biggest hockey market in the world is not an easy adjustment. It might take him 10 games to start to feel comfortable leaving plenty of time to tweak the lineup. He may end up on 2LW if Domi can continue his strong play as 3C and then Holmberg and Kampf can battle it out for 4C.

Easing him in on the the 4th line to play a simpler game could help him adjust to a new system too.

2nd line LW could come later for him.

Colorado has remade their lineup from the goalie out in the last three months. New starting goalie, top three winger, 2nd line centre, 3rd line centre, 4th line centre, Top four dman. Sure they moved out Rantanen but can you imagine if the Leafs moved out Marner and were able to make all the moves Colorado has. Their centre depth is probably unmatched in the league with MacKinnon, Nelson, Coyle and Drury and then have Makar and Toews playing 25 minutes a night on the back end. Having the courage, ruthlessness and foresight to make the moves they have is something Leafs management sorely lacks. It must be pretty exciting to go from a wild card team to a cup favourite in a couple of days. I had Winnipeg coming out of the West but I don’t know if they’ll get by this Avalanche team.

Because they don’t do what you wish doesnt mean they aren’t ruthless, perhaps your opinion and theirs don’t align.

Ruthless is breaking off negotiations with their third best player and leveraging his value to make multiple moves they made to really improve their team. Give me an example of the Leafs management being ruthless.

Nylander is already signed, they tried to move him and didn't like the return.
Regardless, they obviously think they are a better team with him than without.

I don't think any team makes ruthless moves, they just make moves to make the team better.

I doubt Timmins and/or Dewar wanted to leave so perhaps you could call those ruthless.

Doesn't Florida get a bit of a break coming up?
Leafs are playing a ton, 5 games from Saturday to Saturday and then head out West.
I think they are going to be gassed.
Florida plays fewer games, but has a tougher schedule in terms of quality of opponent. They also have some serious manpower issues being down 2 of their top 4 defenseman and Tkachuk. They gave up their opportunity when they lost to Montreal and NYI this past weekend.

Yes, that's what I said they will be well rested where the Leafs will not.

Every team plays the same 82 games. I don't think any team is more rested than any other team.
Yes ultimately they all play 82 games. Over varying parts of the season teams have a tougher go while others get more rest, they don't all play the exact same schedule.

We had a stretch where there were only 3 games in 14 days or some shit in November. Making it up for it now. After tonight, we would have the same amount of games left as Florida. The downside of being in Florida is that they travel much larger distances than other teams. So I don't see why Toronto will be gassed, but Florida won't? It's just people once again readying the excuses for this bunch. Play like champions, no excuses.

I think they will show up with a good effort tonight. Will be good having Tanev back for this rematch. Nice to see Woll in again.
