Confirmed with Link: Avs trade de Haan, Parsinnen, a 2nd and a 4th to NYR for Lindgren (50% retained), Vesey, prospect Hank Kempf

  • We're expecting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
The 2nd round pick really doesn't make sense and especially because it is the better pick between the two they had. That makes it even more difficult to understand. I feel like you can get way better players for a high 2nd round pick at the deadline which the Rangers 2 will be. Every year teams get deadline rentals assumed to cost a 1st round pick for a 2nd round pick.

If any Avs fans would talk shit about getting Sturm for Jost I would call that out too.

Should feel shame for using a top ten pick on Jost not gloating because the Avs got some faceless jobber when they cut bait.
Lol he was so proud of all of those great draft picks that are currently leading the rangers to great success

I don't know how people can get so wound up so quickly by a trade. The emotional hot takes in the immediate aftermath are rarely accurate. I'll reserve judgement until I see what else is to come and how the new players perform. My immediate thoughts were I don't really get it and the price seemed high, but I'll happily wait to see if Lindgren can do better with a lesser role against worse competition on our bottom pairing.
I mean, fwiw someone thinks this is good for Colorado ( be gentle). I think we have wanted to get cdh out- would like to see what Lindgren can do with us. Change of scenery can sometimes do wonders 🤞🤞.

With the Avs training staff and ability to keep guys healthy Lindgren is going to bounce back in a big way.

Bednar's system will make it easy for Lindgren to recuperate.
I'm quoting myself. Am I condescending as f***? Yes. Get over it.

Bednar really does push down the minutes of the half of the roster.

This depresses the numbers for forwards but for defensive defenders like Lindgren it should in theory make life a lot easier than the 20 tough minutes a night he was playing before.

After digesting this, and a breakfast burrito, for a bit. I still don’t like it, but at least we got someone who is known to give it his all. Better than some lazy ass floater.

Onward to the next trade. Hope it’s better.

Any positives ppl? Lindgren is pretty physical right? and if he can regain his form he will be good acquisition, also only 27 year old.

1. Retention
2. It could be a shock to some people, but just maybe the Avs weren't the only team interested in Lindgren

Damn. Didn't realize that he may have been part of a bidding war for a mediocre bottom paring defenseman. That makes it all the better! Great win CMac!

It might be another case of fans initially being disappointed because they wanted someone else for that position like a Dumoulin, but then approve the trade when the player plays few games. The way I see it is, if Lingren is an upgrade on de Haan, Kylington, Middleton, then that’s just fine

Are some of you actually mad that Rags fans tell us how this player is? They sure as f*** know better than any of us here. And I'm including CMac and our pro scouts.
No and I don't doubt for a second that he hasn't been great for NYR this year and maybe even last year.

At the same time, I know how it goes. I know that SOME fans sometimes get down on a player and then everyone seems to pile-on whether it's warranted or not - by those that watch the games and those that don't - and then the narrative goes all out of whack. Just like our GDT with Mittelstadt... he isn't producing but he isn't costing us defensively but just because he can't be the play driver on his line - people call him useless and want to put his ass to the moon. That's not the truth. He's on pace for a 44 point season (with practically ZERO PP time) which is down from the last 2 years but he's not a useless piece of garbage like a ton of people on here would have you believe. Every player has 'down' years where they aren't as good - happens to the best of them. Even the Breadman is only 2 points over PPG (59 pts in 57 gp) after putting up a whopping 120 points last year.

The rangers are a massive tire-fire this year. Most of their players are all having down years.

I will wait to see Lindgren and how he plays on Tuesday before suggesting this was a terrible trade. I've often suggested that slotting is huge and when you've got players playing too high in the lineup.

Hoping for the best and that subsequent moves are going to be made as well.

IMO the only positive is if CMac waits to resign him, he plays decently and then gets him extended for something like $2x2. Lindgren is the type of player that often gets overpaid (see Chiarot, Holl, Gudbranson, etc).

Who’s going to be the new version of over the hill Soda?

I'm sure CMac can go find what's left of Kerfoot for you.

I won’t beat around the bush, fellas—Lindgren has been terrible for the past couple of seasons. He just looks lost out there. That said, before his decline, he was a rock on defense and an undeniably valuable player. He’s only 26*, so maybe he can bounce back with some sheltered minutes.

On the bright side for the Avs, what doesn’t show up in the stats is his heart and grit—both of which he has in extreme amounts. In fact, I’d wager that it’s possible his body is already broken beyond repair, even at just 26*. But one thing’s for sure: he’ll give 100% every single shift.

*He turned 27 18 days ago, as has been brought to my attention so graciously by @hockeyfish (who is that guy)

We need a 2C the most. As long as CMac gets us a legit 2C, we get a healthy Manson, then maybe just one more depth RD, we should be good

Personally, and with absolutely zero insider info, I simply don’t think there’s any available 2C improvements.

I would guess the Avs will add another dman, an extra forward (prob a top 9 winger) and that’ll be it.

In the end it's just underwhelming. Lindgren is having a career year in production apparently. Unless there is another significant addition it isn't enough.

The Burnsville, Minn., native’s next assist will also mark a new single-season career-best. Lindgren also begins his Avalanche tenure having picked up four helpers in his last three games overall.
playing 20 mins a night and is +1

Not to be that guy, but 27.
