3. Hughes was the deserving winner last year but Makar threepeats the Norris if he was healthy in 20-21 and 22-23
Makar is better than Hughes. The gap between them is less than the gap from Hughes to the rest of the pack though

Something really doesn't seem right with this team and it's not just goaltending or injuries. This team doesn't seem to be gelling with each other, and that's odd since its the same core basically.

It's like you almost didn't watch the game. George was the reason we lost. He was bad. Let in 3 awful goals. Can't overcome that shit, no matter how you slice it.
We didn't play great as a team but should have managed a point if we didn't have that garbage can in net.
These games expose some deep underlying deficiencies in the roster and the Avs style of play. I really have no expectations for this team this season.

Players are allowed to clear rebounds and tie up sticks. And 3 awful goals, okay.....
Avs PP has gone drier than Betty White's skin the past 2-3 weeks and the Avs PK has been crap since the beginning of time it seems.
One goalie over performs other goalie shits the bed. It's pretty obvious why we lost.

Agree completely although we may lose fewer games like this one. The team is still completely broken.
You're ignoring the fact that getting Georgiev out of that locker room would be addition by subtraction in and of itself. This team is terrified to play to their identity because it relies on their goaltender to make a routine save. Instead they have to sell out on every single f***ing shot against because they can't trust him to not give up a brutal rebound, if not just let in the goal.

I'm fine with admitting that Hughes won the Norris last year and deserved to win it. As we all saw during last season - even though Cale had a good season production-wise, he just wasn't as dynamic and seemed 'off' or maybe even fighting a lingering injury. He seemed more reluctant to carry the puck up the ice and make things happen as we are seeing him do this year and how he had been doing it in years prior.
This season though, I don't feel it's particularly close for anyone who really watches the games. Makar's defensive numbers are affected by the fact that we have the worst goaltending in the league by a country mile... so if you're going to buy-in to the fancy stats that don't take everything in context, then sure you can start to believe that Makar sucks defensively and is sacrificing defense in-order to put up crazy numbers as some nucks turds suggested. Anyone who watches the Avs knows that is false.
Never going to win when the goalie can't make routine saves and is letting shit in from behind the net.
