Don't think he will be as good as Nuke defensively, but I can see him put up 25 goals 25 assists with the Avs, specially if he gets PP time on the 2nd unit. He had 19 goals and 24 assists last year, so 6 more goals and 1 more assist. Could happenI don’t know about that, but he seems like already plays hard and Bednar seems to get the most out of people like that. He seems to have greasy skills. JTC with better finish as the floor, no idea what the ceiling is but I can’t believe it’ll be a Nukish improvement.
2c or 3c he will be given a shot there, many players will. The Avs are one of the most injured teams in the league every year and I don’t think it’s going to change. If he’s brought in to be 3C or a winger that’s fine, great depth that should fit in just fine. But if he’s thought of for the 2C spot than that’s a major problem.
Today is my first day here.Have you spent a week on this board?
Seems awfully generous to be calling him a HIGH end 3rd liner when he has done that for one season... really one half of a season if you look back at last season.ERod at 2M is so much better than not having Erod. Signing is a pure win for the Avs. He isn’t the savior. He isn’t a Kadri replacement. But he’s a HIGH end 3rd liner who can fill in on the 2nd line almost permanently. If we add a high end forward piece at the deadline for the top 6 and Erod is a full time third liner in the playoffs for it means we have some ridiculous depth. Cup winning depth.
Ya he probably would have. And we’d have banked cap space and could make a trade later in the season.
New hook atleast has a 5% chance at being a 2C. ERod is 29. He’s a great pickup on a 1 year deal for cheap but he’s not a legitimate option as a 2C IMO. Obviously hope to be wrong.
I like this signing a lot and have been hoping the Avalanche would land Rodrigues this off-season.
I have no idea if E-Rod will score 19 goals again, but it's reasonable to assume he'll chip in 30+ points and be a solid two-way player. One thing that I like is that Rodrigues shot the heck out of the puck last year with 243 SOG; more than Compher and Newhook combined (215) last year.
Over his last 5 nhl seasons, he’s either paced or produced for 30+ points in 4 of them.May I ask how this is reasonable?
Pacing =/= getting. He's scored 30+ once in his whole career so far, and it it came with rolling on a heater in the first 30 games. The last half of the season, he paced in the 20s.Over his last 5 nhl seasons, he’s either paced or produced for 30+ points in 4 of them.
Will he do it again? No idea, but it’s reasonable.
MacKinnon/E-Rod/Myers/Helm
God that's ugly ass center depth lol. I expect at the deadline for us to make a move for a more legit #2C but still. Oh well, who needs C's when you have D's.
If he’s being tried as the 2C it’s a horrible deal.2c or 3c he will be given a shot there, many players will. The Avs are one of the most injured teams in the league every year and I don’t think it’s going to change.

Yep.Cant complain at that price.
