Avs
Darcy Kuemper

to

Oilers
1st 2022
Dylan Holloway

- Oilers get their goaler, which they battled with the Avs to acquire during the offseason.
- Avs get a similar package back that the Coyotes originally got for him.
- Avs then sign UFA Tuukka Rask from the Bruins to a one year contract between 3.5 to 5 million.
- Bruins don't have to worry about sending anybody down or have to deal with a goaler carousel.

They don't have to worry about it, Swayman doesn't need to go through waivers and if he needs more seasoning then he needs more seasoning. So you can really take the Bruins out of the thread title as it's very misleading.

He's expendable due to the progression of Savoie. If you rather keep Holloway, then by all means replace him with Carter instead.

I don't get this rational at all. Prospects are just that, prospects. As one starts to play well, that doesn't all of a sudden make one "expendable". You can never know for sure who is going to turn out to be a legitimate NHL. You keep them and hope as many turn out as possible.

As for this deal, its brutal. As mentioned above, no Oilers fan would even consider Holloway alone for Kuemper, let alone add a 1st. Also, Savoie and Holloway aren't on the same level at all. Savoie has been progressing nicely, but Holloway has the pedigree and production thus far.

Not sure if I've seen a proposal so universally panned make it so far as 4 pages without a lock. Oh yeah, did anyone mention yet that Rask will only sign in Boston?

No one got to that part after the shit show regarding Kuemper value. It’s a moot point I think

Three ways with goalers never ever work out.

there is no three way, Boston has no need to trade anyone, all while still having only two goalies on the roster. Who do the av’s have to take over as their starter?

I am really starting to question your understanding of hockey and roster management

Rask? Haven't you been reading this thread mate? That's the point of Avs trading Kuemper to the Oilers for Savoie+1st 2022. That's actually a worse package than the Avs gave up for him. Avs convince Rask to come to this team as they can offer him more money with a champsionship and then they trade Darcy to the Oilers who need a goaler. Swayman isn't going to stay if you lot send him down, he considers himself NHL calibre and will ask for a trade. So then you're stuck with an overpriced Ullmark and a Rask that is two seasons from retiring.

Rask himself has said he is only signing in Boston!
I live my life outside of HF and fantasyland, the reality is Rask isn’t signing with the av’s

Avs got Ray out of Boston did they not? This is the same situation bruv, Bruins will be a bubble team in the playoff hunt due to how loaded the East is. At the TDL is when the Avs will pounce.
It’s really not the same Bourque was chasing a cup and got his first one after the trade , Rask has no need to chase his first cup

So why is he coming back into the league though? Obviously not for money because he said he will sign cheap, but to win no?
So you are willing to accept that he has said he want to come back and willing to take a discount but him saying he will only sign in Boston is hogwash

what would Rask gain by saying he only wants to play in Boston?

Cap doesn’t work. Avs need to take Kosko back which would be fair because the Oilers are overpaying already.
