Do you lot remember in the first period when de Haan found himself on the ice with the legendary first line and looked like he didn't belong in the same realm as them? That shift reminded me of this lol...
You misunderstand what it means. Expected goals isn't supposed to match with the result. It's simply what's expected on average. And this why I always question advanced stats. The Avs had and expected goals for, of about 2? That's a load of shit.
The only goal we didn't earn was the 2nd one gifted to Colton. LOC on breakaway, Rants goes bar down with laser shot, Kelly goes post and in maybe Gus wants that back still a pretty solid shot, Lehk on a 2 on 1 after perfect pass, 29 fired a laser another one maybe Gus wants back but wasn't a shit goal either.
So I don't see any way we should have been less than maybe 3.5, 1.9 is a joke.
Yup lol. It was hilarious because Makar and Mackinnon both saw him and hesitated to pass it, but then Makar wanted to be the nice guy and decided anyway. It was also funny as hell because everyone was just skating circles around and he just stood there with the rest of the Wild players. Was that the shift where they were whipping the puck around creating chances and then it came to him and he just YOLOd a shot into a defenders shin pads for it to clear the zone?

That stickhandling in a phone booth move in the 2nd (?) was silly.I thought Mittelstadt had a much better game tonight. Noticeably much better handling the puck and better on board battles.
It's his skating that he seems to have issues with. It's almost as if he has a severe groin pull on both sides and just keeps reaggravating it when he plays.
Holy shit, good job Middleton. You da real MVP

Terrified of his bro methinks.
BS.Up until the third this was one of the most labored blow outs ever. It didn't seem like we were playing all that great, but we just kept capitalizing on fleeting chances when we got them. They were usually at times when the mild had been pressing and we got one quick chance and buried it to break their little green hearts. Good to see the Avs put the game away with conviction. Blackwood continues to be great. And the excuse machine Wild announcers were in full force before the game even got going. I don't think the Avs were great, but they took their chances and dominated on the score board.
The wild should feel pissed with the result. It wasn't even remotely close on the score board. They got reverse goalied.

I don't need advanced stats to tell me De Haan doesn't belong on this team.Someone get me some advance stat chart thing that validates my feeling that Sam Malinski sucks.
I understand that. I was simply looking at the ones we did actually score and most were on quality looks. Based on the looks we got, I still believe the number of 1.9 is absurdly low. Hell the LOC breakaway chance and the Lehk 2 on 1 should have put the number higher than 2, as those are top end looks and we had other quality looks throughout the game. You misunderstand what it means. Expected goals isn't supposed to match with the result. It's simply what's expected on average.
Minnesota had like 7 shots on net by mid second period. The chart makes no sense. It's makes it look like Minnesota was dominating and clearly better and we were lucky which doesn't match the eye test. I thought we buried our looks but the game itself was fairly even or even slightly in our favor.View attachment 959007
This reads the way I saw the game. We buried chances when they came but we never really dominated the game or deserved those goals. They were breakdowns we capitalized on.
Ultimately it doesn't matter too much. We won. Yay for us.

They had 10 or 11 shots on net after 2 periods... there are not a lot of games where you 'deserve to win' when that happens.Minnesota had like 7 shots on net by mid second period.
