Okay, kind of a shaky start but Blackwood bailed their asses out. Avs didn’t give up many shots but the ones they did…good God. Blackwood was utterly brilliant.

Give credit where it’s due. Josh Manson needed to step up tonight and that’s exactly what he did. Fantastic game from him. Also thought Keaton Middleton turned in one of his best performances on the season.

Saw sparks of brilliance from Mittelstadt even. This time he seemed to be holding onto the puck even in the face of some hard checking from the Wylde.

So…yeah, this was an absolutely depleted Minnesota squad. But they showed they can lose any game to anyone last night so good on them to show up on the second of a back to back and get the job done.

So during the 3rd period, the mild announcer says "Blackwood's made some good saves but a lot of the shots just hit him without him really making the save"...

This is why everyone HATES you... Just never, ever giving credit where credit is due. You can say that the Avs announcers are massive, massive homers and they truly are but they'll give credit to great players like capri-sun and never ever try to diminish or downplay other teams. It's the difference between a classy organization and a petty, envious and jealous one.

Again and always from the top down, such a garbage piece of shit organization. In the year 2500, I hope they hold the record for longest drought without a championship in all of sports.
 
Hate it when I have to watch these games on delay. ESPN+ stuttered and fast fowarded to the end of the game and spoiled the score for me (it was 1-0) at the time.

Anyways, still watching it and am in the second period, but I've got to say, if Drouin is injured he sure hides it well. I know it's an UBI but he's out there skating hard and still making defensive plays. Would love if my bad days were like his.

Wild announcers are one of the worst. Their PBP guy sucks. Shitty voice and his goal calls are annoying as hell

I don’t think only the games played with the Avs will be enough to give the Vezina to Blackwood when going against someone like Hellebuyck who’s done it for the whole season. They’ll probably say not enough games played compared to the other guys who will be up for the award. Not even sure if Blackwood will be a finalist, even if he continues to play the way he has with the Avs.

Edit: I’m talking about just this season though. If Blackwood is gonna play like this with the Avs for years to come, I’m sure he’ll have a good chance at winning the Vezina

I thought Mittelstadt had a much better game tonight. Noticeably much better handling the puck and better on board battles.

It's his skating that he seems to have issues with. It's almost as if he has a severe groin pull on both sides and just keeps reaggravating it when he plays.

There’s this residual soundtrack of listening to announcers get worked up when chaos is around the net. The announcers get worked up into a crescendo and after a certain amount of time of hearing this I know “goal!” Is inevitable with Georgiev. It’s Pavlovian the way one is conditioned to accept it as inenviable.

But with Blackwood, it can be chaos around the net with no degree of certainty they’ll concede a goal. I was noticing the prolonged crescendo of the Minnesota announcers as they were anticipating a goal that never materialized when there was a lot of pressure.

Georgiev would need to climb at least two ladders to be on Blackwood’s level.

Isn’t that the ultimate praise for a goalie? That they’re in such good position that the puck just hits them? Stupid Wild crew, can’t even troll correctly

And this why I always question advanced stats. The Avs had and expected goals for, of about 2? That's a load of shit.

The only goal we didn't earn was the 2nd one gifted to Colton. LOC on breakaway, Rants goes bar down with laser shot, Kelly goes post and in maybe Gus wants that back still a pretty solid shot, Lehk on a 2 on 1 after perfect pass, 29 fired a laser another one maybe Gus wants back but wasn't a shit goal either.

So I don't see any way we should have been less than maybe 3.5, 1.9 is a joke.
