Dude killed it again last night with a 2G + 2 apple game. Now Up to 1.59 PPG. +21 in just 22 games. dragged his team from last place to 2 points out of first since his return from offseason surgery. He’s vastly improved over last season.

ritchie and Gulyayev are crushing their post draft seasons. Did the Avs actually draft well for once? The Avs two 2023 1st round picks look super promising so far.
To be fair, you could pick any prospect in the late 1st outside of Stramel (lul) and they'd look promising.

The scout said “Skating has always been a strength for Ritchie” based on my limited viewings and highlights I can’t say how skating overly stood out as a positive. Has he improved this year?

Very good read on Ritchie. Very encouraging comments from Brock in that article. Brock is very well regarded when it comes to OHL players.

Ritchie played last night and no comments... must not have had any points. :sarcasm:

(I actually thought he was good and one of the better players in the game... just was a slog of a game)

So basically, we can't move Ritchie. He could be very valuable to us in the near future. One asset less.

Only move him, if we find something we love and is signed long-term.
Agree 100% Keep Ritchie and let him develop in the Avs' system. Too many on this board subscribe to "window open/all in" equates to trading away premium draft picks/prospects ASAP 👎

Extending out this thought bubble... if Ritchie is to be an impact #2C, the earliest year that could be expected is 26-27. At that point the Avs are a full year into Mikko and Byram's new deals. The entire core except Makar and Byram (if he is even core at that point) are over 30 and you're in the final season of Makar, G, Lehky and Colton's deals. IMO That is just not setting up much wiggle room.

Ritchie should be on the table for a 2C that will be a solution for the next 3 years. Moving him for a rental who walks would be tough. Not a fan of re-signing the current declining Lindholm so would hate to see Ritchie moved for him unless we win the Cup

Yea, I'm fine trading just about anyone if it upgrades the team. However, the deals shouldn't be short sighted.

I have no issue trading Ritchie in a deal for a mid- or long-term 2C. I would still do it for a rental but I wouldn't be too happy about it. After reading Brock's comments about Ritchie in Evan's article I would much prefer they use other assets than Ritchie for a 2C rental.

I kind of think the opposite. He may be first, but that’s because you don’t know when he actually is coming to North America. You know it won’t be for two years, but he could always extend.
On the flip… that unknown hurts his value. Most teams that want prospects, want them in the NHL in a year or so. The question here is it 2? Is it 4? Do you trust his development that you’ll have almost zero say in? The uncertainty could lower the value enough where the Avs decide it is better to hold and wait.

It's funny how protective we are of Ritchie when we haven't found one impactful player outside the top 10 in over a decade.

There's a chance Gulyayev or Ritchie could break the mold, but there's just as good of chance they're the next Newhook, Jost, Kaut, Elliot, Siemens, etc.
