I was joking around about the dartboard. I dont think the Habs fan was joking when trying to pawn Anderson and his ridiculously bloated salary off on the Avs. I dont think the Nelson idea was bad but I wonder if Lou is too bitter to trade with the Avs. He seems like hes probably very proud and stubborn.

ROR? But I think more realistically it’s Miller, the delta between the cap they just opened and Mittlestadt screams JT.

Drouin-MacK-Necas
Lehkonen-Miller-Nuke

Yikes.

Add??? Habs fans still believe Anderson has positive value, lol.
I assume you both missed the part about retaining eh

Miller would absolutely thrive in Colorado, he a similar personality to MacKinnon but I think he would gladly defer to someone that plays the same style at an extremely elite level. He's only a problem if you rely on him to be the defacto leader of the team.

Why would Colorado trade for Jones? Are they moving on from Josh Manson? If there was a trade you'd think those 2 would be the pieces.

Jason Dickinson seems like a guy the Avs would target. Parker Kelly is miscast as top 9 center, and the Avs just traded their best faceoff guy, while getting one decent one back.

The Avs actually have quite a bit of cap space to work with now, and Seth Jones will obviously be traded with some retention given his contract.

They can move Manson down to 3RD for the last year of his deal next year and have Jones at like $7.5M be the 2RD behind Makar.

Kelly is only playing Top 9 because of injuries to the depth at the moment. He's a 4th liner if we're ever close to full health. And the Avs literally dont give a shit about faceoffs so no doubt that's not really a concern to them. They're a heavy analytically drive team and the analytics on the insignificance of faceoffs are quite well known.

I actually think if there's a forward from Chicago the Avs are targeting, it would be Donato.

As mentioned on NHL Network, the Rantanen trade opened some room and supposedly Avs ain't happy with Mittelstadt's play, so centres are a big priority.

Elliotte noted that Brock Nelson is one player Avs are interested in.

Who are potentially others available? Gourde?

I don't see how Gourde is an upgrade on Mittlestadt.
