Josh Anderson could be great for Colorado , he's a power forward for playoffs. Kind of guy that Colorado needs in my opinion.

Necas is going to get every opportunity to be that missing 2C. They may not do it the first game or two, just to get his feet wet, but he’s been pretty open about wanting to play C and now he’s been traded to a team with that opening.

Between that or being in a line with MacKinnon, he'll quickly forget about his center aspirations, at least until he sings a new deal

It’s not Necas. Every part of his game screams winger. The only reason it would be a consideration is because the player wants it. Carolina is not a stupid team, has had potential openings at centre and never went to him for a reason.

If Colorado does intend on using Necas at center, I wonder if Mittelstadt and futures to Pittsburgh for Rakell makes sense. It would allow Colorado to run with this top-9 when healthy:

Drouin-MacKinnon-Rakell
Lehkonen-Necas-Nichushkin
Colton-Drury-O'Connor

While it gives the Penguins a long-term 2C to replace Malkin after next year and more futures. IMO that 3rd line does need a bit more help but that top-6 looks lethal.

VAN can then make follow-up moves. They may keep Mittlestadt and/or Drury, they might move one or both for an upgrade at C or D.

Wood-Colton-O'Connor

I was joking around about the dartboard. I dont think the Habs fan was joking when trying to pawn Anderson and his ridiculously bloated salary off on the Avs. I dont think the Nelson idea was bad but I wonder if Lou is too bitter to trade with the Avs. He seems like hes probably very proud and stubborn.
