Congrats Avs. Well deserved contract for Blackwood. Many times he kept the Sharks in games they shouldn't have been. I think there is greater things to come from him and he is a great locker room presence.
Before Askarov, I wanted the Sharks to extend him as our guy. Even after, I wanted to keep him around, selfishly, to help break Askarov in.

While in Colorado Grubauer received Vezina votes. He's a good goaltender, right?
Because it's a formula based on objective inputs. No statistic is perfect, but it attempts cuts out subjectivity and create a repeatable and falsifiable baseline. That's why it's far more reliable than some anonymous poster on the internet putting forth their (likely) amateur opinion.

Man NHL GMs are stupid. You cant bet on goalie consistency in this league. Especially not after 1 good season.

5 x 5.25 for a waiver wire goalie after 4 good games? This is one of the more insane contracts I've seen. It's like the Avs are somehow blessed with a great team but on the condition they have to make exclusively bad goalie decisions.

Basically the same contract Tristan Jarry got, and he was a two time all star at the time. Risky move considering how quickly goalies can turn to crap in this league (like Jarry for example).
