I wonder what Matthew Phillips did to piss Bednar off so bad. The guy has NHL experience and has been scoring consistently for the Eagles, but literally everyone else is earning a call up before him. I expected him to be around 14/15 on the forward depth chart this season, instead we're calling up plugs like Polin, Felhaber, and Bradley.

He's just not a great NHL'er. He'd just be more of what Tynan does in the NHL and I don't think Bednar or any coach really wants that on their 4th line.

That Innala-Megna-Phillips line got absolutely caved in during the pre-season, and that was it for them

In Innala's defense, he was put in a poor position to succeed during his first NA experience. He worked his way back into the good graces by working hard and not being a skilled perimeter player like the other two

Innala’s biggest strength in Bednar’s eyes is that he doesn’t turn the puck over. Either completes a pass, off the glass and out or dumps it in deep. He can skate pretty well, too.
