Makar was sick so I'll give him a pass. Colton had a rough game, especially on the first goal. That whole line wasn't great.

Great game by the 4th line, You might have to suit up Cogs in the playoffs just because he literally throws his body at everything.

Mittelstadt proved himself to me this game. The toughest matchup you can have, he showed a lot of great defensive efforts and a lot of high IQ plays. He's definitely a pass-first guy though I would love to see him shoot more.

Walker great, obviously, Manson too. Gerogiev's best game of the season IMO all things considered.

Ya'll have me watching Rants like a hawk right now. Have to start a low-IQ / low-effort play tally every game. He's got to be better.

New guys definitely deserve props. Started off with that great intercept by Mittelstadt in front in the first and he only went up from there.

Walker was obviously great. I really like Duhaime too.

Manson also had an incredible game. Some solid plays by JJ too.
You can just see it now. Walker will be taking Girard's minutes in the playoffs and even JMFJ will look better due to Girard's aversion to physical play.

Top line, Makar (hard to blame him since he's sick), Colton, Wood were rough...but that's why CMac went out and got depth and a 2C. They don't have to rely on Mack to do everything.

George was also fantastic tonight. This feels like a team again,

Lost in all this is the great defensive play by Lehky in the Avs zone seconds before scoring the GWG

He's the definition of a winner. You can apply basically every positive hockey cliche that exists and they'd all fit. Cuts are going to be coming but once you start losing the Lehky's I think your in trouble. I get he doesn't drive his own line but who cares when you have elite talent to pair him with.

Mitts offense is going to be interesting here once he starts developing some chemistry with the team. I'd staple him and Rants together and let Mack drive his own line.

Oh and I wanna say 1 thing. Yakov Trenin was a beast tonight on the cycle. That 4th line was phenomenal tonight.

Honestly if they want to make room for Kovalenko it should be Wood coming out and not anyone from the 4th line. Cogs maybe could use some rest down the stretch though.

Val did his best to keep Nate off the score sheet tonight but even Selke candidates can only do so much.

1. Resilience and compete level was very high. Kudos to Bednar.
2. Walker takes the sting out of losing Byram.
3. Impressed with the depth in all lines now. I can definitely see the value in getting Middlestadt.
4. Relieved at Georgiev’s play.
