Does anyone actually believe that MacK should have been 3rd star over Blackwood tonight? Mack's mishandled the puck repeatedly the past few games and he's clearly not himself
And like MIttlestadt, he's been knocked to the ice repeatedly a couple of times of late.
Not to mention the return of the old pull up and spin arama from him.
So while many of you deservingly point fingers at Mitts, recognize that the puck hasn't been sticking like glue to MacK's stick like it does when he's 100% either.
I think they are are both banged up and I hope the week off helps them heal.
Mack looked so pissed on the video board after the goal went in, don't know what you guys saw on TV. He went into beast mode and created the second goal, you could see his determination after he figured out it was his weak effort on the draw that was some of the blame.
Mitts doesn't look as bad in person but he really needs regular linemates. He's looking to make passes and you see he looks up and no one is where the thinks they should be. Mikko just floats until he decides a shift is power mode, I don't think Mitts can handle that. One thing I thnk he could do is fake a pass and shoot. Goalies and D know he's pass first and second so he gets some open lanes to the goal. He should take shots, some might go in. Even if they don't it will throw off the defense.
I like Innala's movement and positioning, was glad to see him move up for a few moments. While he obviously won't stick I think having him on Mitts line may not be a bad idea. When he's on 3rd and 4th line duty he's a waste, his size is such a problem and just poking at the puck does little to disrupt the other team's grinders. Having him go where Mitts expects a winger to go might be more valuable and create more chances plus he won't be facing another teams size.
Lastly CDH in person is a real eye opener. Not only is his lack of speed bad, you can tell he's fighting the game so badly he's like MacDermid lite out there. He backs up so early and is always looking over his shoulder. Completely ineffective as a defender. Manson cannot get back quick enough. Middleton plays with better confidence and at least mostly gets it, shooting into the opponents shins is just asking for trouble. I wish these deeper depth D were told to just shoot it into the corner or wide and hope for some caroms to create plays. When they wind up and shoot it is so easy to block and too often it leads to a scramble the other way. The Kraken just were so slow and disinterested much of the game they didn't pay for it.
