He's also showing himself to be better than CDH. I would keep him on the 3rd pairing upon Manson's return since CDH stinks.

Something has to happen with Mittelstadt. This is beyond concerning. He's not even useful on the ice in the way J.T Compher somewhat was in a 2C role.
Wow, that's a low bar.

btw- I turned on the game to catch both EN goals, Kivi owes me one.

It’s true, though.

Like @dahrougem2 said, Compher wasn’t as useless as Mitts is right now. JT2C was at least engaging physically and could kill penalties.

Mittelstadt is a ghost in every single zone other than when he’s losing puck battles and turning the puck over with the slightest forechecking pressure.

Let’s be clear… Mittelstadt is a much better player than Compher. But not this version. This version might as well not be on the ice whatsoever.

This Mittelstadt is the Casper that Stastny was accused of being

This version makes me wonder what RyJo is up to these days.

This version of Mittelstadt needs to be stapled to LW immediately and let Colton get skating up the middle.

I've soured on Casey so much.

Along with Mitts being completely useless, Colton is a cause for concern. I don’t think his foot is bothering him as he’s skating just fine.

Bednar is clearly not happy with him, demoting him from the 2nd line to the 4th line during tonight’s game. Kivi went up to the 2nd line and Ivan to the 3rd.

Bednar was asked if he’d be back on the top line because Bednar had said that was the plan when he came back. “Yeah, well, depends on how he plays, right?” He’s not happy with Rosco at all.
Yeah well it's not really surprising when Ross turned the puck over blindly making a backpass off the boards in the offensive zone that was quickly intercepted early on in the game and then did it AGAIN later but this time there wasn't an Avs player within 40 feet of the puck.

Not his best game tonight.

@sethro109 mentioned it awhile back but Mitts took some big hits like over a month ago but hasn't been the same since.

When he started the season, he was noticeably much quicker than he had been in the playoffs but since those hits, his skating has been much worse than at any time since he's been here.

I don't know what kind of injury it could be that he's trying to play through that's not allowing him to use that extra quickness he had during his first 15-20 games to start the season.

Really hope these next 5 days will allow some of our guys to heal.

In any case, tonight wasn't perfect but was our best effort through 3 full periods we've seen in a while.

Does anyone actually believe that MacK should have been 3rd star over Blackwood tonight? Mack's mishandled the puck repeatedly the past few games and he's clearly not himself

And like MIttlestadt, he's been knocked to the ice repeatedly a couple of times of late.

Not to mention the return of the old pull up and spin arama from him.

So while many of you deservingly point fingers at Mitts, recognize that the puck hasn't been sticking like glue to MacK's stick like it does when he's 100% either.

I think they are are both banged up and I hope the week off helps them heal.

While I agree Mack hasn’t looked great, the difference is Mack is still finding ways to at least contribute and offensively, while Mitts is struggling with everything.

If it is some sort of injury, he needs to sit until it’s better. The way he’s playing, we’re better off with Colton or Ivan in his spot.

MacKinnon's effort alone on the 2nd Avs goal ensured we weren't losing this game and that's good enough for me.

Mack looked so pissed on the video board after the goal went in, don't know what you guys saw on TV. He went into beast mode and created the second goal, you could see his determination after he figured out it was his weak effort on the draw that was some of the blame.

Mitts doesn't look as bad in person but he really needs regular linemates. He's looking to make passes and you see he looks up and no one is where the thinks they should be. Mikko just floats until he decides a shift is power mode, I don't think Mitts can handle that. One thing I thnk he could do is fake a pass and shoot. Goalies and D know he's pass first and second so he gets some open lanes to the goal. He should take shots, some might go in. Even if they don't it will throw off the defense.

I like Innala's movement and positioning, was glad to see him move up for a few moments. While he obviously won't stick I think having him on Mitts line may not be a bad idea. When he's on 3rd and 4th line duty he's a waste, his size is such a problem and just poking at the puck does little to disrupt the other team's grinders. Having him go where Mitts expects a winger to go might be more valuable and create more chances plus he won't be facing another teams size.

Lastly CDH in person is a real eye opener. Not only is his lack of speed bad, you can tell he's fighting the game so badly he's like MacDermid lite out there. He backs up so early and is always looking over his shoulder. Completely ineffective as a defender. Manson cannot get back quick enough. Middleton plays with better confidence and at least mostly gets it, shooting into the opponents shins is just asking for trouble. I wish these deeper depth D were told to just shoot it into the corner or wide and hope for some caroms to create plays. When they wind up and shoot it is so easy to block and too often it leads to a scramble the other way. The Kraken just were so slow and disinterested much of the game they didn't pay for it.
