I think I read somewhere we are only 1 point off the pace from last year and this is with Ward and a few others exceeding their expectations. We are back in 12th pick territory. I know we've not been impressive with our 1st rounder but it's the difference in Murphy, Bean vs Hanifin and Lindholm. Who's to say how our later rounds go if we picked 7 slots higher.

Must win game. Ugh why do I still have faith ?

There's still some reason to hope I guess (29 games left, games in hand, not mathematically far off points-wise), but the Canes being the canes make all of that a non factor. If we were a team on the rise, gaining momentum, had beaten some of the top teams, etc then I'd be more hopeful but I think this team is gonna be pretty meh from here on out. There will be some good games, and great individual performances but they aren't going to pull off a 2009.

More fun reasons to bet on Colorado tonight. Haven't won on the road since before Christmas. 1-13-1 in their last 15 on the road. Somehow worse than the Hurricanes on the road (4-10-1 in last 15)

I also saw somewhere that teams coming off their bye week are like 0-5 :amazed:

3-8-1 as of earlier this week.

And it's because they haven't even been allowed to practice for 5 days. Staying in game shape in pro sports takes continuous work, and that work doesn't happen when you prohibit it from happening.

Sadly we're stuck with them due to the CBA, but they've seemed like a failed experiment to me.

If we lose to Avs (who are like the worst team of last 10-15 years) who are away, I will kill myself. I guess this is my last game, because Canes can dissapoint in many different ways.

Friend ran into Faulk yesterday and jokingly asked him which locker room he would be in tonight. He laughed and said "I'm not going anywhere"

So all you saying Hurricanes can be manmade, I guess the title of this thread should be "Battle of the man made disasters"

Worst team in the league from the other side of the country? I'm truly stunned.

I figured the long break would cause some fans to want to go. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, etc. And being against the worst team I thought would be a positive. Best chance they have of walking out of the PNC discussing a win.

That's not how it works. Plus it's a 5 game home stand so first game back doesn't make much of a difference.
