The saddest part was Aho came in better than advertised and it didn't move the needle on the season.

We still have too many holes at too important of positions unfortunately.

We still need to upgrade in net. Ward's been... OK but Lack's complete ******** of the bed has led to us overplaying Ward and wearing him out. We would be much better off buying Lack out and trying to snag Fleury from Pittsburgh before the expansion draft, running a 1A-1B of Ward-Fleury.

And we are still very obviously missing a #1C. Rask is a decent #2, Staal is a great defensive #2. What has been shown is that we have some serious talent on the wings though, it's not just Skinner anymore. Lindholm seems to be progressing again, Aho is the real deal. We literally need only one of Roy or Goat to step up and play like a top 6 guy when they make the jump. The option of having a 3rd line with say Roy-Rask-TT long term is pretty appealing. The issue is going to be finding that #1C.

 

[Breakdowns]

Few thoughts about the game - Hanifin had a good game, I hope he can build on this one. Ryan should be gone, he has played too much on PP and even strenght, I hope he is not playing on Sunday. Few good games doesn`t mean that he has to play in every offensive situation for like 20 more games. Ward was good, some very good saves. We need to get our **** togheter. I am not thinking about playoffs, but I think we deserve a good winning run before season ends.

Need to market him to the puck bunnies like Jeff Skinner was in his rookie season. It will put warm bodies in the seats if nothing else. I mean he does kind of resemble someone who would be in a boy band anyways so why not right?
