The first three shifts it looks like he was shot out of a cannon. The next two a little bit behind the play and a few lazy circles didn't help.the look.

The game is all kinds of fast and of course the Americans are trying to hit them out of the rink. Finns look like they're up to the challenge.

Maybe my memory is skewed but Matthews doesn't seem nearly as strong and intentional.

Has to be a nagging injury he's recovering from, doesn't it?

Generally agree overall, but the bolded is not really true. Matthews has taken a significant amount of criticism/blame share.

The issue isn’t how Matthews has been treated or held to account, the outlier is the vitriol Marner gets beyond everyone else.
Well Matthews is a two time Rocket Richard, one time Hart Trophy, Calder Trophy and Ted Lindsay award winner who’s twice scored 60 goals. That gives him more street cred but he still hasn’t delivered in the playoffs but that’s also a collective failure.

I would say Matthews at the very least has some signature playoff moments-->
Goal against washington
Cooking Boston even though Babcock played Marleau over him
Second tampa series (especially game 4 come back)
Game 2 vs Boston last year

But I'd like to see more from the team they've accomplished everything except for the ultimate goal and thats ultimately what's left. If they get it done Matthews, Marner and Willy will be immortalized

True but that’s a big if for me.

He was as good as the Tkachuks and Eichel? Love this website.
I didn’t watch but I heard matthews was good defensively but never heard he was among our best if there’s one thing this tournament does is show you how they stacc up against the best in the league are players seem real complementary after one game let’s hope that changes or were screwed
