Funny that. Clark, Lindros, Neely and even Lemieux to a degree were all considered to be guys that you treaded lightly around and maybe even feared. Matthews has never had any of that as part of his tool kit

Clark, Lindros and Neely played extremely physical styles which resulted in debilitating injuries. Lemieux wasn't the most physical player in his day but was somewhat not that well conditioned in his early days. His back issues started with a herniated disc and spawned into a seasons long problem that plagued him the rest of his career.

It's too bad he stole the captaincy and now JT is a little pissed and won't share his healing amulet.

This is the real information I come to this place for. This some solid real kyper, rings true. We need to get someone on the inside to sneak one into his locker. Get that man an Amulet!

Under no circumstances should Matthews be playing in the four nations. I don't care if he's better in a few games, he shouldn't play there. The back problem is chronic, and these are needless games for us. If he was fully healthy, sure... but he isn't. I'm even on the fence about putting him on LTIR Vegas style, and bringing someone else in.

That seems fair. It would seem like it would eleviate some of the angst if they were a little more upfront
Matthews doesn’t want it divulged as is his right so all they say is upper or lower body which is the league policy. As far as timelines go they obviously have no clue and he’ll let them know when he’s ready to play. It sounds like a day to day assessment. I’m not as cynical as a lot of the fan base on this.
