Auston Matthews and Porsche

Matthews is like a Porsche.. overpriced, overhyped, and prone to breaking down

Haters will hate. Funny how those that make fun of Matthews cannot stand on same ice as him and are not even 1/100th of his skill on the ice.

But just so you know Porsche's are one of the best made cars in the world. Yes overpriced, but have you ever driven one? Not overhyped and definitely not breaking down as often as you make it out to be.

Facts, Jags, Audi, Range Rover, BMW, Mercedes and Tesla breakdown at a higher rate then a Porsche. But then again you know best.

Much better than a Porsche, Jag, Audi, etc.

I always laugh at these kinds of arguments. Like yea no shit I'm not in the NHL. But I'm also not paid $13m to disappoint and get phantom injuries every year.

Back in the day I worked at Audi, and at the end of the day there isnt much difference between the two. Both luxury brands that feel like dolled up VW's, because they basically are.

There is a massive difference between the two. As a guy who has worked on Audi/VW/Porsche for over 2 decades, they aren't comparable. I've also owned 7 Audi, 5 VW, and 5 911's (3 turbo, 1 targa, 1 Carrera S). Nothing about those cars is similar outside some shared hardware between a few models. If you're talking about Macans, Q5s, etc., sure, shared platform. However, the actual long term ownership cost is pretty low on Porsches compared to Audi. The 911 is one of the highest rated sports cars in terms of reliability.

Just sayin. A Porsche actually delivers, Matthews doesn't.

Fair, you worked there for a lot longer than I did, it was only about a year for me. The SUVs (Macan/Q5/Tiguan?) felt way too similar.

911 is a fun little car sure but not for me. I do have to laugh though, the Porsche fanboys definitely drink the cool-aid in a similar fashion to the Matthews fanboys.

If I were to get a luxury car I'd begrudgingly say itd be a Benz. Despite the largely terrible people who both buy them and work there, their cars do it for me in a way Porsche, Audi, BMW dont.

People make fun of Matthews precisely because he’s so talented but gets about 1/100 the potential out of it when things really matter…

As someone who has owned two Porsche's over the years, I can say this: They are extremely reliable automobiles.

I have never had any issues, at all, with either car, and, as an added bonus: when I sold my first one, I was amazed to see how much value it had retained, as well.

My Nissan (now over 2 decades ago) were like having a family in the US without health insurance.

No, but how would you like 4x Bugatti Veyrons for the Dakar Rally?

I'm not that fancy. Besidrs they break down all the time and are all around high maintenance. I feel like I owned one already with Mitch on the team. All cars I mentioned are workhorses, even the Corvette. Thats my justification

Yeah all I’m saying is we have expensive fancy cars that aren’t the best for the journey we are on.

Matthew’s. League MVP with multiple goal scoring titles.
If you like him and you are a male are you a fanboy?
Same for McDavid?

Matthews, multi time playoff disappointment, lacks intensity, often injured, comes across as a major d-bag. So yes, if you see that as someone great you probably are a fanboy

I drive a Mercedes 2021 GLC 43 AMG. Fun car to drive and surprisingly quick. Very reliable.

Well if we're comparing classes then you really need to get behind the wheel of an RS5 you'll never want to drive anything else
