He's good defensively, and Barkov shouldn't be grouped with the 2 guys you mentioned regardless of how well-rounded he is. Matthews has almost as many goals as Barkov has points this year. But, I guess you found another Fin to fanboy since Laine hasn't come close to living up to the expectations you set for him.

Pretty sure Matthews is top 5 in the league for shots blocked by a forward after leading the league last year. McDavid is not close.

Blocked shots is one stat, it's not the only stat.

McDavid is the GOAT - in no way is Matthews in his tier, and this is a Leaf fan telling you this.
Regardless - Matthews is in the convo for #2 after McDavid and non-leaf fans can finally start to realize it

McDavid is better and even if you disagree it is insane to say Matthews is “by far” the best
