Bruins President Cam Neely gets very agitated while answering questions surrounding the Bruins' collapse for a second straight year.

Cam admits he could have stopped the Seguin trade but he got angrier and angrier as Felger and Mazz pound him with questions.

I have not listened yet but want to say that while I am not a Felger/Mazz fan I am happy that they put the pressure on Cam by asking the questions that all us fans deserve to hear answers to.

I love Cam as an icon but I don't understand how someone who is as emotionally invested in this team can be expected to make sound rational decisions at an executive level regarding the on-ice product.

You can hear the emotion in his voice, the anger and frustration just seething. And that is talking to a couple of clowns on the radio over the telephone.

I can only imagine the conversations that go on behind closed doors between Cam and the rest of the group running this team. Scary.

He is starting to strike me like one of those blow-hard managers/supervisors everyone agrees with and tippy-toes around so they don't blow a gasket again.

guys this is crazy. Was this a comedy show? I couldn't stop laughing

Is Neely really our teams team president? He is a very poor speaker. Stuttering like crazy, swearing. So vague

Felger and Mazz totally ripped him apart today.

BUT I felt ok about it. Because he needs to understand what happened the last 2 seasons is not ok.

Last chance Cam, Sweeney, CJ

only way it is not (get out of jail free card) , is to trade the main core players and go with the younger guys. (except keep some guys like Bergeon, Marchand, Beleksky, Spooner, Pasta maybe Krug)

Something tells me Matty Chmura will have Cam refrain from anymore public statements for a while.

This is a touchy situation as the radio contract with 98.5 provides that the team MUST provide someone from management to come on once a week and then do one season recap ( which was today )

Sweeney avoids interviews like the plague so that leaves either Charlie or Papa. Charlie would implode on air.

Cam did let it slip that he expects to be fired if team fails next season so the tension behind closed doors must be intense. From everything I have heard Papa gets very heated in private.

The one thing I'm ok with but not ok with is that Cam sounds like he lets "players" in the organization do their job. It's important to you don't meddle in what the GM, Coach , player does (maybe a few times a year, but not constantly)

But with that he let PC trade seguin. Mad about the smith trade but Neely, Sweeney took the side of the system in place, coach etc vs one guy who didn't look like was happy nor fit here.

Seguin matter on the other hand was on CJ and PC big time. For CJ not to play him as a center was so idiotic , it should haunt him the rest of his life. PC to let a few sleep ins, cloud your judgement and trade a future franchise players, stupid.

Neely right now is praying Don gets everyone out of jail. Cam won't fire Don, CJ . He won't meddle in the decision of scouting, stop trades, etc. So next year if this happens again (with no signs of the young players progressing) Cam , Sweeney, CJ will be fired as a package. And this is the last thing the Jacobs want to do as they have a special relationship with Cam and Sweeney

This. So much this. The guy is a great cheerleader, but he's too emotional to run things. Imagine Lucic running things? What makes BB of the Pats so good is that he doesn't have any emotion.

Um, when Bergeron got hurt late in that season Seguin was used at center and I believe it lasted all of about 1 game. Even Seguin himself said he has a greater appreciation for Bergeron after trying to play center in Claude's system. Claude never went back to it, can't say I blame him.

And it had nothing to do with Seguin being dealt, playing wing over C.

That's what you took from it,how he publicly speaks? He was very measured in his responses, not able to give honest answers without throwing someone else under. He was pissed, but controlled,I was okay with it. He's sick of the stupid effin questions and he said so.

So far,Seguin's a PPG player, hardly a franchise player and who said the trade wasn't forced by JJ?

A slow start to next season could result in a chain reaction of trips to the guillotine

^this
If the guy doesn't show emotion, he's soft. Today he showed emotion and he's terrible. Felger and Mazz are putzes. Good on Neely for calling them out. Felger just stirs the pot for ratings. Tell them nothing Cam.

Centering the third line? Instead of as a potentially high-scoring top-6 forward?

Yes. Clode rolled 4 lines with equal mins. Give segs pp time

Or you trade krejci. I repeatly stated we should of picked seguin over krejci

Or have seguin center and krejci as the RW

Pretty sure connected people on this board have inferred that it was Mrs Jacobs that forced the Sequin trade and I'd assume that connected media types would know that as well. Cam has to take the bullet for ownership, its part of the job. I would find it annoying getting questions that everyone in the room knows I cant answer publicly

I don't know about Mrs but certainly might be Mr. I agree,he was in a state of controlled frustration.

Some here wanted to trade Krejci, who had just lead the playoffs in scoring for the second time, and put "1 goal in 22 games, outscored by 2 4th liners and a 2nd pair defenseman" Seguin in his place at center. Then again, some people will say anything when they get twisted up by their own argument.
