18,000 total empty seats at the first three Canada games in Montreal. Great support by French-Canada. More people in the stands in Toronto for a Sweden-Denmark game at the ACC. Pathetic, just pathetic. Good thing Semis and Finals are in a real Canadian province.

You want to pay prices that are higher than NHL you go right ahead. This is bunch of pimple faced kids that no one outside the "eh" provinces gives a **** about. It's all marketing and you fell for it, hook, line, and sinker. Congrats, you are a real Canadian from a real Canadian province!

Only a real hockey town would do that.

Why not get on your moose and ride down here from your exciting town and buy tickets to a game? Oh, too far? Guess you're not a real Canadian.

Anglos aren't going either...........their coming to my house  nice try.........:help:

Very true.

I hear Cirque is coming back in 2015, not to mention you have your tennis event. Jazz fest as well.

Good to start saving the pennies now.

There have been plenty of Montreal fans here who have been belittling the tournament as being beneath them.

I think it is fair that you cannot honestly refer to Montreal as a hockey Mecca anymore.

I guess the hockey Mecca is the city that's going on 50 years and counting between cups......;)

It's a price-related issue, these tickets cost more than those for NHL matches while the level of play itself is a lot lower.

Yeah apparently they really didn't do any advertising in Montreal and you also had to buy three packs of tickets. I think they simply have pushed passed what people are willing to spend on these games and are paying the price for it this year. They just got way too greedy

I don't understand half of the complaining going on in this thread.
Deciding that prices are too high and not going to the game doesn't make anybody less of a fan. In the same way deciding that it is worth it to go to doesn't make you more of a hockey fan.

The unfortunate thing is that the Montreal tickets were priced apparently too high for most people. That would be HCs fault, not any of the fans. Further complicating the matter is that any Montreal tickets posted on the secondary ticket exchange had to be posted ABOVE face value where as in the toronto exchange they can be posted for under face value and either way are generally more reasonable. I'm sure many people who would have loved to go the games stayed at home and watched. Some people don't trust stubhub - it is just how they are and therefore they didn't have access to cheap tickets.

Anyways I kind of derailed off topic there but what I am trying to say is that not going in person doesn't make you less of a hockey fan.

Not everyone has access to common sense..........I have 12 hockey fans coming to my house within the hour including a Bruin and a Leafer and 8 Anglos............we're not going to consider ourselves any less of hockey fans because a couple of posters

Oh what will you do? Come to HF and whine about Montreal?

Newsflash: we don't care.

We're not paying 200-300$ to see junior kids play.

Heck I payed 25$ to see the Canada vs Switzerland pre-tournament game and felt I didn't get my money's worth.

Montreal is so different.

Still a business, deeper pocket always wins.

2:00 in Toronto and they still fill the ACC.

What defines deep pockets exactly? USA pockets are way deeper. Maybe we should just hold it every year.
