They turned it into a circus. It was quite entertaining when they had 8 or so guys in fastest skater, hardest shot, accuracy shooting, puck relay course, breakaway challenge, etc.
When they started introducing costumes and props and off ice events and stuff it became half the event it used to be.

The big take-away I think is that the whole weekend is really an 'in-person' event. I don't think you can really capture the (hopeful) vibe of it all through the TV. You need to be there, moving around and just interacting with players, other fans, and NHL related 'stuff'
