LEAFS GDT Atlantic Division - Race to the 1st

If Tampa wins tomorrow night, they're within 2 points and it will be very tight to win the division. Even if we beat Florida Tuesday, if Tampa wins against us on Wednesday, it 's back to just a 2 point lead leaving very little room for error. And even after the B2B we have this week, there's still another after that. NHL scheduling is horrible.
Take a breath. It's over. Neither Florida (even though I expect they will beat Detroit today) nor Tampa will catch the Leafs.

Ottawa won't catch Florida. I think we will see Florida beat Detroit tomorrow, and i wouldn't be surprised if Columbus beats Ottawa. Meanwhile, Montreal will win again, so Ottawa will probably still have to look in their rear view.
i doubt it as well, but it's just something i noticed looking through the standings.

CBJ might've had their wind taken out from beneath them by us last game so i wouldn't be too shocked if they dropped at least todays game

Yeah, Columbus/Ottawa is probably a toss-up, but I have a feeling Montreal is going to get to within a point of Ottawa over the next few games.

Montreal is five points back of them. I don't think they're getting anywhere near Ottawa

I feel like it could be 3 after tonight. Montreal will run into a problem next Saturday against the Leafs, but I could see them sneaking a point out of that game.

It's not excuse but just understand how thing working and it's the same thing whatever wich team playing.

Hesitation = basically taking 1/2, 1 second to react on every play... so You're late on every play and could easily look like lack of work. If you're hesitate, you will start to be more passive than active be because you will overthink everything and at the end just frozing.

Leafs 1st 2 game was clearly the best team on the ice...some stats after 2
tor/fla
SF 73-57 = + 128%
SCF 75-51 = +147%
HDC 36-19 = + 189%
XGF 8,49 vs 5,91 = + 2,58

You're completly outplayed your opponent but down 2-0. The way the played both game, they should be up 2-0 and at worst tie 1-1, clearly not down 2-0. Leafs had been better vs Florida than tampa, the difference was they're only one goalie who played like a goalie should play in playoff
Keep ignoring game 3, whatever.

The Panthers were the 8th seed and the Leafs had just broken through their R1 barrier

Everyone in the world rightly thought the Leafs should win that series
Anyone who hadn't actually watched both teams playing could be forgiven for thinking that.

What is the new style? Dump and chase hockey?

They have had better defensive stats in years past...

Hockey doesn't be play in a stats sheet. If you can't see how leafs are much better just to clear the front of the net and make lifr easier for goalie, i don't know what to say... It's pretty easy to see it and you don't need stats to see it

Keep ignoring game 3, whatever.

I'm not ignoring game ... game 3 is the result of gm 1+2, thats different

leafs played 2 great game 1 and , 2 game they should had won but still lost... How do you think that affect player mentally? You're starting to ask yourself what you did wrong and how you really can do more without been able to find any answer. Pressure become just higher, you start to overthink --> hesitation --> start to changing your game --->start to be affraid to make mistake because the guy behind you can't help you --> start to try the perfect play unstead keeping your own game --> Trying the perfect shot and just missing it ( # Matthews)... and slowly, you just forgot everything you did right all year long

Game 3 is not a result of lack of working, its the result of gm 1+2 and how goaltender can affect you mentally

Something tells me that Florida is trying to tank to the wild card spot now to get a potential match up with us.

So here's the question:

If Florida continues to falter and Montreal wins their next three, if we've pretty much clinched first by next Saturday do we let Montreal win and hope they pass Florida for the first WC spot? (That way we play them and Florida gets Washington.)

I feel dirty just typing that.

"The score doesn't matter"

Cool.

winning a game 4-0 and losing a game 5-1

It is he same than winning a game 3-2 and losing a game 3-2... Statstically it's the same but they're a world of difference between both...

Exemple scoring 9 goal in a single game in playoff and 3 total in the next 3...stats say It's the same thing than scoring 3 goal each game but wich one you got higher chance to win in playoff?

These f***ing assholes. It's exactly like Boston last year purposely shitting the bed at the end to face us. If we do face Florida I hope we can pull it out. Hopefully the team is as sick of being treated with zero respect as fans are.

Blaming game 3 on games 1&2 is a pathetic excuse that I'm simply not buying.
