The demand is greater than the supply.

Gotta figure the Mets will sign a starter. The Orioles will be in the market for a starter if they lose out on Burnes. The Phillies are apparently interested in Crochet. Giants now need to replace Snell.

Multiple teams are going to be disappointed this winter.

It was always said Snell preferred the west coast

I’m not too worried about people wanting to come here, if the money is there people will come. It’s not like this org is at a dead end, the general consensus is that it has one of the brightest futures in baseball

Said it before, but it feels like an Occam's razor thing when you look at the 5 teams reported. When you look at the Mets, Red Sox, Blue Jays, and Dodgers, what do they have in common? They're the top Yankee "rivals". If you're trying to force the Yankees to get uncomfortable, those are the teams I'd pick as competitors.

I do think there's a number that would get him to move. I doubt he really cares about the Domincan following part. He's always been clear that money will make the decision (that's why you hire Boras), but the money's not just limited to his contract and Yankees offer more opportunities there than anyone else.

I will say it's interesting that the Yankees reporters out there haven't projected much confidence, but that could simply be that they view the Steinbrenners like recent FSG, where they just don't expect them to offer the money required.
He's hanging out after the games until 3am getting haircuts and restaurants stay open for him. I think it goes into the whole package.

This Mets favorites thing is clearly Boras, Cohen wants him desperately but Stearns is lukewarm. Cashman I think would rather fill three positions than one. I think in the end you will read Boston and the Mets offered more but he decided to stay in the Bronx.

There are few things that make me more pessimistic than seeing pro-Red Sox rumors from Nightengale or Heyman.
Feel the same with the Mets. Nightengale is generally way off and Heyman works for Boras. When you see Sox or Mets mentioned by Heyman means Boras client doesn't want to go there and trying to drive the price up.

I don't doubt that the Mets want to bring Manaea back.

I just don't think that signing him will necessarily mean they won't also sign Corbin Burnes.
I have this feeling that Cohen's spending spree this winter is going to make the Dodgers look like lightweights. They'll get multiple top names.

Mets GM worked with Burnes for years, I wonder how aggressive he is for him. If they lose Soto, I think you're looking at Burnes, Manaea and Buehler tbh added to Peterson and Senga

I actually love that the Dodgers are doing this. Theyre just showing us what cheap, pathetic losers all these billionaire owners are. To do what they did last year, then start with the first big offseason splash, all while still being in the conversation for Sasaki or Soto.

now that Bieber has had the arm surgery I knew was inevitable and all he’d cost is money I’d be in on him. Should be ready by mid season but when he’s healthy he’s been just as good as the big 3 UFA have been
