I guess Corbyn Burnes with his durability (pretty much 30 GS/S and 200 IP) and numbers (solid, not overwhelming K% and BB/9) would be even more appealing to teams 10-20 years ago. But hasn't the league moved away from that? Pitchers are rarely allowed to get deep into games, often not even 6 innings.
He's obviously still a desirable pitcher, but I just think you may be better off with a Snell in todays game. Someone giving you spectacular 4-5 IP before the 2 inning specialists come in.

Considering that it takes a draft pick on top pf shedding out the biggest contract of the winter for a pitcher, I'd rather take my luck with Snell or maybe even Fried. Both also come with the advantage of being left-handed, which the Sox currently don't have in their rotation. Of course that could be covered by acquiring Crochet, though.

Soto is whoring himself out ~ his comments 20 minutes after the WS were telling to me

He’s a hired gun

His first love was Washington and he walked away

Mets make sense - build around Lindor & Soto

Get in before cap comes and get all this grand-fathered in

Burnes & Snell make most sense

Soto will go to the highest bidder.
I predict the Mets get him.
Two of Burnes/Snell/Fried is what we need
Take a flyer on Buehler
Would love to see us sign Romano on a cheap / prove it contract

When it comes to latino players, Hector Gomez is usually pretty accurate. Was the first to mention Dodgers becoming the frontrunners for Teoscar last year over the Sox, Angels, and Mariners.

These baseball signings feel like Lebron “The Decision”. I guarantee hes already made his decision, just announce it. Gotta drag it until winter meetings.
Yup my inclination is it’s one of NY teams - whoever pays most

I’m him I would go with Mets fun park fun team

Yankees are so full of themselves with their stupid facial hair shit - I would remove them and say I want to keep my beard and Mets aren’t stuck in 1960

Here is the situation on Soto. It's everywhere and even a guy who goes to a Soto relative to get his hair cut (has pictures growing up, seems legit) says Soto does not like Aaron Boone.

Regardless the Yankees are his choice. Huge Dominican following. The Mets will offer more, and he will use that, but Steinbrenner knows It would have to be ALOT more. That's where Boros came in with getting the Sox and Jays involved. Pretty sure both offers are real and big, but for my money he is staying with the Yankees unless the Mets do something really stupid. Annoying.

13yrs 46 mil is the number IMO, with various outs. Mets will avg 50 per and not get him. 4 year out he will want 200 mil in those 4 years.

Said it before, but it feels like an Occam's razor thing when you look at the 5 teams reported. When you look at the Mets, Red Sox, Blue Jays, and Dodgers, what do they have in common? They're the top Yankee "rivals". If you're trying to force the Yankees to get uncomfortable, those are the teams I'd pick as competitors.

I do think there's a number that would get him to move. I doubt he really cares about the Domincan following part. He's always been clear that money will make the decision (that's why you hire Boras), but the money's not just limited to his contract and Yankees offer more opportunities there than anyone else.

I will say it's interesting that the Yankees reporters out there haven't projected much confidence, but that could simply be that they view the Steinbrenners like recent FSG, where they just don't expect them to offer the money required.

Yeah, it's very much starting to feel like the Sox are being used to get the Yankees to up their offer.

I do think there's value in that (and not just limited to doing a favor for Boras to position themselves for another one of his clients). We know these Steinbrenners aren't their father. They have a budget and they're going to stick to it. If forcing them to spend more on Soto means they can't fix another weakness, that's great! We want them to spend that money as inefficiently as possible.
