I guess Corbyn Burnes with his durability (pretty much 30 GS/S and 200 IP) and numbers (solid, not overwhelming K% and BB/9) would be even more appealing to teams 10-20 years ago. But hasn't the league moved away from that? Pitchers are rarely allowed to get deep into games, often not even 6 innings.
He's obviously still a desirable pitcher, but I just think you may be better off with a Snell in todays game. Someone giving you spectacular 4-5 IP before the 2 inning specialists come in.
Considering that it takes a draft pick on top pf shedding out the biggest contract of the winter for a pitcher, I'd rather take my luck with Snell or maybe even Fried. Both also come with the advantage of being left-handed, which the Sox currently don't have in their rotation. Of course that could be covered by acquiring Crochet, though.
