Why can't we develop offensive talent organizationally?
Kaliyev says hi. (oh wait, he doesn't count because he was picked just outside of the 1st round)

@All The Kings Men, I think you do good work, but let's get real...you ain't asking any 'hard' questions to anyone of relevance unless you are alluding to some podcast you are going to do with your dad and your buddies.

1. Whilst I’d expect a long veteran player to get a little more rope than a rookie, there does seem to be a vastly different level of accountability for certain players. So Björnfot needs to be perfect it seems, whereas Roy/Durzi seem to not have their usage affected by multiple mistakes or errors. There’s a case at times for sitting veteran players but they rarely miss a beat.

2. Is it a tenable situation for Kopitar and Doughty to play so many minutes. The younger players need more responsibility to give them the room to grow and over use off 11 & 8 reduces that opportunity. On top of that both 11 & 8 need more rest to extend their careers as major pieces. Why are both being allowed to play so many minutes? It’s all very well saying the younger players need to show more, but to do that they need to be trusted. They are dealing with players that are of a different generation and mindset - they need to feel trusted.

Constructive as always…

What is the team identity supposed to be? What is causing the disconnect between the desired identity and the actual play on the ice?

Why is the team struggling to play with structure?

At what point does the overall lack of preparedness fall on the coach instead of the players?

I'll be kind and make it very generic & palatable to ask these two questions:

1) How would you evaluate the results so far this season? What's gone right and what's gone wrong?
2) Do you expect an active Kings TDL or do think any potential changes/movement this season to come from within?

Don't be a dick.....

Is there any chance for us random schlubs to be apart of their marketing-related focus groups?

Has there been any thought to playing an upcoming preseason game in the Clippers' future arena (or, for that matter, the Forum, or even something crazy like SoFi Stadium or StubHub Center, or whatever the later is called these days)?

Has there been any consideration for going back to terrestrial radio (full-time, I mean; not just rando-570 drive-bys)?

Does Todd know you're being rude to Kings employees?

Why is that rude? I think @All The Kings Men is great and I listen to almost all the podcasts. I'm just being honest...like who are these 'hard' questions intended for?

I just listened to the most recent podcast where Jesse explains WHY he can't ask the hard questions and it makes total sense. So, what is really the point of this?

I just mentioned in another thread that I'm noticing defenders are going down less (almost not at all) when they are defending a 2 on 1 or on the PK to block a cross ice pass compared to how they were defended a few years back.
If you disagree then I guess it won't be a good question to ask, but I'm often seeing guys not even getting the stick down or getting on one knee.
I normally only watch Kings games so I'm not sure if this is similar across the league
Is that a new way to defend in the NHL or in other words do the analytics (if there are any) show that it's better to not go down to block a pass?

For what it's worth I don't think it was rude and I don't think you're wrong.

HOWEVER

What gets lost in a lot of the conversations on here is that there are constant ongoing conversations behind the scenes between all the different departments. Two years ago I never would have expected that I would be able to ask Mark Yannetti about what happened with Eric Cernak. I never would have anticipated asking Stoll about the length of Byfields stick.

I like to collect information so that when opportunities arise I can capitalize on them and I am constantly thinking and working to improve our overall product even if in minute ways.

Basically let me try.

Yes please. Gone are the days of the out of town highlights on the jumbotron in between periods. Now it’s absolute trash Bailey facelifts(who looks terrible btw!) and Bark madness. Why did they go from catering and gearing content towards existing Kings/NHL fans and turn the content towards treating everyone in attendance likes it’s their first ever game?

As a co-creator of Bark Madness I'm gonna get defensive and address it here.

Bark Madness was started by a group of bloggers when we didn't have access and the team was on the rise and just happened organically. It was popular so it grew. The organization saw how popular it was and it migrated from an independent site into the organizations control. The day it STOPS being popular is the day it goes away. While you all might not like it... there are more people that do.

It was never conceived of to be a distraction or some sort of pablum or soma. It was just me and my dumb friends having fun back when the team was contending for a cup.

Sorry we tried to have fun and that for two weeks out of the year we spend five minutes talking about dogs.

As for the rest of your complaints... I may or may not agree.

But everybody leave Bark Madness alone already!

You should bring a suit against the Kraken for their blatant rip off of your idea.

Thanks so much for all that you do, Jesse. We know that you don't have to be here toiling with and taking anything from the peanut gallery.

It's fine when it was on the back burner and we could chose to click on the bracket and vote or what not. But when it takes the place of talk of the game or out league scores that is where I saw issues.

Yeah I don't think anyone had an issue with the segment in and of itself

It's when it became "yeah the team sucks so instead of this intermission analysis LOOK AT EMMA PEARSON" that it became insulting.

DON'T YOU SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT EMMA PEARSON!!!

but point taken... but keep in mind that those kinds of decisions are also driven by Bally and not just the Kings

not saying this is one of those times but the producers at Bally/Fox Sports are making the telecasts with input from the team not at the direction of the team
