Eh, I'm well aware that +10 in Round 10 is almost certainly more valuable than a net +20 in 12 and 14

However, if history is any indication, my targets in this range will still be available to select when I'm up

A better deal may have been out there but considering almost every trade discussion has fizzled out, I'm content at this point to make any move that will provide me with an advantage, especially when I'll still get who I originally wanted

Something is better than nothing, unless trades carry over to the next draft and no one informed me :sarcasm::laugh:

Not saying it's veto worthy but I don't like it from Dr. Pepper's POV. That's a 41 slot jump for an otc pick. The two back to back isn't a horrible return but I don't really get it.

I guess I don't have a problem with it if everyone else is okay with it.

It ends up being back-to-back-to-back since I already have the pick right before it.

I also have another pick in the round just prior, where I'm sure I'll be able to pick a decent enough blueliner or forward to add to the roster.

I still don't get it, sorry lol An otc pick should have the highest trade value for any trade in this. I just feel like there's a clear winner in this. That's just me though.

I feel like it's not my place to veto it considering BB is in my division and that may make me look bad. I'll just say I really don't like the return for an otc slot. Again, that's a 41 puck jump.

I’m ok with it. The difference between a 16th rounder and a 13th rounder that DP gets is larger than it looks because of where those guys willl be on your roster. A 16th rounder is a 4th liner or bottom pairing D. A 13th rounder is a 3rd liner who will have much more of an impact.

This is why putting round numbers helps!

Well sure, but how much value are you putting on an OTC pick when the pick is #204?

We're talking bottom-six forwards and 2nd-3rd pairing d-men at this point, it's not like I'm moving a 3rd rounder here.

Just my two cents, I don't feel it's a bad deal but maybe I'm in the minority. :dunno:

Sorry

To BenchBrawl: 204 (11th) , 317 (16th)
To Dr Pepper: 245 (13th), 246 (13th)

It’s definitely not a trade I would personally accept- or offer, really. A general rule of thumb that I thought existed was 2-1 in terms of value, but perhaps I am imagining things.

That’s a big jump. I’m not going to raise a stink about it, but I won’t be one of the three to approve the trade.

Currently on round 11 we are still filling either our top 2 units or a goalie, while on rounds 13 we are filling less important positions. I don't want to suggest outright veto as I'm in the same division as BB, but I won't vote for it to be accepted either.

This shouldn’t be overlooked. This trade will allow DP to draft his entire 3rd line at once if he so chooses.

I even said i'm not necessarily screaming veto worthy, but it's a very confusing trade to make.

I don't like it and clearly i'm not the only one, but i won't complain if it goes through. It is what it is.
A little extra skepticism towards on-the-clock trades shouldn't be surprising.

I have no interest in this (i.e.: will abstain from saying yea or nay)- but sometimes it pays to look at this through Stanislavski's eyes...

What's the motivation?!
