So, I had something of a depression-driven outburst earlier. (The last 2 days have been bad.) I edited it to apologize for it, but I'm afraid that won't be seen as well as an apology here would be, so I want to apologize here as well. You guys deserve better than you've been getting from me in the last few days.

Thanks, guys. I've kind of had a rough week, and I let it spill over. I shouldn't get frustrated about stuff like this. I've still got a lot to learn, and I need to keep that in sight in the proper way.

And the result after less than a second was staggering.

Imagine a single AI program given the directive to eradicate part or all of humanity - there are recalcitrant nihilistic sorts. It only takes one human to get this ball rolling.

Forget "nuclear codes" - Do you think AI couldn't source the data from emails and computer hacks and phone calls and lip-reading surveillance cameras?

The rest of this century will be interesting... there seems to be an inevitable FU to humanity sentiment... let us hope not 'til at least the 22nd century. (What alternative could there be to the developmental arc of AI technology?)

It can be dodgy to bet on sports overseas.

You meet a guy named "Kim" who sits 14 hours a day at the desk of a little-used Internet cafe/soda and snack shop.

You put $50 (50,000 Korean won - close enough) on "Journalism" to place, because you always bet to place, to not lose a photofinish. The guy doesn't get "place", and even though you say the Korean word for second he shakes his head, so you go "win".. in the Kentucky Derby. And he finishes 2nd. Then the Preakness comes and you wanna place Journalism again, but don't wanna another hassle, so impulsively "win' Sandman, which ended up 3rd....

So instead of cashing in on two second place Journaliam bets intended, you get squat and thank your lucky stars that the triple crown is the only event you put money on!
