@nabby12 i didn't mention this yesterday because I was trying to find someone completely random and non-ATD related to message you about it, but I'm actually somewhat involved with the NL curling community, despite having only played once in my life. Mostly as a graphic designer, helping with uniforms, social media assets, digitizing ancient things that people only have one nearly unreadable copy of, stuff like that. Thanks for the message! That's really cool to hear that you're involved with NL curling. I'm sure I'll be back in St. John's next December/January for playdowns if my team sticks together.

I'll be keeping an eye on that then. One of my closest friends is on Team Schuh, and then there are other people kicking around that I know for various reasons. I was hoping to get someone like that to send a completely unexplained "Johnny Engine says hi", but we're apparently still an extra Kevin Bacon away from being able to do that.

Is the following a common problem during sever-stress times like trade-deadline?

My sign-on status is unstable from sub-forum to sub-forum. As a signed-on user, I can paginate to p. 15 in the draft-thread, but any attempt to go to pages 16 & 17 shows me as being signed out. This also occurs in various sub-forums throughout the site. I've tried clearing the cache, changing browsers- no lo hace.

Can I expect that after the trade hullaballoo dies down, the stability of my sign-on status can return to normal?!

The HoH forum has been devoid of quality content for several years. Notice how most old timers rarely post anymore? (A goalie project with only 19 voters!?! ) A regular just wrote that Sanderson, Keon, and Delvecchio were better than Mikita.

Please have a look at these two designs and tell me which one you prefer. I've already asked some friends and family members but figure I'd ask here as well. These were AI generated following my instructions but as we all know AI is not without its faults. It doesn't understand every request, and of course has its limits. But I still think it did a decent job overall.

I prefer "The Hockey Library" on the book cover, but then it looks a bit empty up top. So should I stick with the name being up top and a blank book cover instead?

Any feedback appreciated.

Cleaned it up a bit. Removed the white on the top of the puck, and I guess having 3 pucks was kind of redundant lol

The main ones are GIMP and Canva, the former being an open source photoshop alternative, and the latter being a scaled down alternative for beginners and dabblers. I can't really speak to the exact capabilities of either because I use the big guns for everything, but many people use these and get by.
And then hey, if you want anything done to very exact specifications, you can always ask me and we could work something out.

The site still seems to be having some major issues, fortunately I've been logged in on mobile for months and everything is fine there so I can still make picks, I can also take lists if anyone else is encountering issues

Just tried logging in on my desktop again and upon trying to access the ATD board it seemingly swapped me to the account of @Professor What which is absolutely bizarre

Hopefully this gets resolved soon because trying to properly format and post a bio on mobile would be an awful experience

I agree with everything except Gretzky-like vision.

The number of eye-dropping passes to mistakes (not identified/made a stat) is closer to zero for Gretz than McD.

(I was in junior high school in '82 and played my last year of youth hockey then. That autumn/fall Kamloops opened a state-of-the-art roller skater rink across the train bridge -about three blocks from home. And i ditched hockey - i was cut, choose to leave than B team it as reserve).

McDavid anticipates... but go watch Gretzky, Oates, Thornton passes (to cite three in my lifetime i saw live) - career highlights STUPIDLY shows a passer's genius not at all.

Show the best fifty passes by Gretzky and you would understand how OV is at the foot (okay part way up) Mount Rushmore.

All accounts created after March 2024 have been completely wiped out with no way of recovery. Pretty sure something this big on a forum as prominent as this one is essentially unheard of. What a f***ing disaster.

At least the posts and threads since March 2024 *appear* to be recovered.
