4 goals against on 12 shots in the 1st period against Milwaukee tonight. Not good.
Yeah. I didnt see the first goal - a PPG from Kemell who looks like a nice forward for the Preds.
The second and third goals he had no chance on.
The second was a Kemell dangle thru Masters.. kind of an accidental dangle that worked out for him. Masters got his stick on it just a bit but poked it back to Kemell as he was gliding to the other side of Wallstedt for an easy finish. So a bit flukey but Masters needs to be better there and as for Kemel, it shows skill to turn chaos into gold like that.
The third goal was a shorthanded two preds vs one andy wellinski. absolutely no chance for wallstedt.
The fourth goal Lambos gave up on a puck retrieval. He was gonna hit pretty hard but gotta get that puck in the corner and protect with body. Instead he stopped short and whined about not getting an icing call. Then the admirals quickly cycled to the point and defenseman skated just to top of slot and shot thru a crowd . Wallstedt got a bit of it. Not sure how difficult or if he should have had it.
Masters is getting a lot of time but hasnt been a great game for him. Not terrible but failed to hold blue line once and a couple instances of weak checking.
Bankier not getting much ice still but might be Iowa's best player so far imo. He had a sick play skating into the middle of the slot, protecting the puck while a defender was draped all over him then one-hand pushed a nice pass to teasdale just above the goal mouth for a nice chance. Unfortunate that Khaira isnt playing tonight he had some good chemistry with bankier brewing.
Walker and Petan have been pretty rough so far. Forcing things causing turnovers. Beckman is invisible.
O'Rourke has been most reliable defensman. Good gaps and good stick.
EDIT: Oof. Spacek bad outlet leads to quick hard shot from distance. trickles thru wallstedt and tapped in his own goal trying to recover
lol goal #6. was thinking wallstedt was starting to look shaky and should be pulled. ads got a good movement going and rebound of wallstedt as he's swimming leaves open net. They're still not pulling him which is kinda f***ed up imo
finally pulled halfway thru 2nd. i guess they waited for tv timeout to pull him so he wouldnt get jeered by milwaukee fans (who have been dogging him pretty hard) as he left
