Beyond Brady Tkachuk being cheaper, which has nothing to do with who the better player is, there is no legitimate argument for him over Marner you can't make it, It's impossible.
Shorter contract, cheaper, play style more suitable to playoff hockey, np way of knowing how Brady would play in post season but Marner hasn't been great.

Yes Marner is more talented but at this moment I would rather have Brady ALL things considered.

Marner is obviously the better high point offensive player but many teams around the league desperately need a Tkachuk type player more

I can see this vote being pretty much split

Just my opinion but I think Brady is better suited for playoff hockey and is getting better every year.
Marners 7 goals in 33 playoff games is a big cause of concern
The school of no evidence, or maybe he sucks like his father and brother. We don't know.
He 33pts in those 39 games. Many goals need setup.

I can smell the hate.

Habs fan here would take Tkachuck (we should have him :( )

1- Better contract
2- That way, he would stop to son'd us
3- Marner is better but he's a huge p****, especially when comes playoffs times
4- Tkachuck simply brings more to the table
How so?

You can take the Tkachuk's family dearth of playoff performance.
I'll take the player with experience and production.

How the f*** is Tkachuk winning this LMAO
Might be that alot of Canuck fans like me though on the surface that he would be a "better fit" for our team even if in a vacuum Marner is the much better player even when taking salary into account.

I just changed my vote after more thought on it.

Didn't you know, he's a proven playoff performer ! - Some Sens fans

I really like Bradys game a lot, but this thread is a joke  and these same voters claim they don't have a bias

Simply because the majority of people still can read and/or are not biased

The 60 point player or the 100 point player? Tough choice…

Tkachuk is on pace for 84 pts, Marner is on pace for 95 pts

The point of this thread is obvious but if there's one thing that I have learned is that you can't never explain too much :

If this is the production level for these players going forward, which one do you take considering their contracts?

The people voting Marner will mostly be Sens haters, Leafs homers or people who are looking at past results without understanding the new information...

What the ....
"I'll take the lesser player....I don't need more production"

Marner is on pace for 95 pts at $10,903,000 AAV
Tkachuk is on pace for 84 pts at $8,205,714 AAV

13% more production for 33% more cap

As usual, some people just HATE facts

When you factor in the fact that Tkachuk has 5 more years at this cap while Marner is UFA in 2 years with no way of knowing if he'll stick around... is it really even close?

33pts vs. 0

Ottawa had the misfortune to have shitty teams since Brady joined the league

Marner is on a powerhouse team since a couple of years ago and your team has since become a meme because the players, including Marner (some would say "especially" Marner) choke when it's important

I'd take a chance with Brady

The question is not "who would you rather have had the previous 3 seasons". The question is who would you rather have going forward.

Besides, Marner is 3 years older, so comparing the previous 3 season is doubly pointless.

Marner is 2 years and 4 months older

Matthew Tkachuk 27 GP 15 Pts
Keith Tkachuk 89GP 56 Pts

The funny thing is the family chokes harder in playoffs than Marner despite their “playoff style”

That's an absolutely huuuuuuuge "if". Which is the point.

Brady so far has been a 60 point guy, Marner 100 points.

Have Brady actually perform at this level for more than one half season to convince people of his level moving forward, and then we'll talk.

As for Marner - last season he paced for 110+ points. But we're assuming he's a 95 point guy moving forward right?

Whats next - Rantanen vs Hyman poll? Close production, only 3 years difference in age. Lets make a poll?

HF is ridiculus sometimes
