Kid has fallen out of favor in LA. McLellan plays him 8-10 mins/game. He is rumored to be available.

What could Montreal offer that could entice LA? A prospect? A pick (late 2nd? early 3rd?) A vet? A goalie?

Not sure what LA needs, but I certainly could see room in Montreal's top 9 and on the PP for a guy with a wicked wrister like him.

Liked him a lot in his draft year. Looked like an awkward kid, but certainly very skilled. I think he could become a Tippett-like reclamation project for MSL/Hughes.

This Habs fan offers Tanner Pearson 50% retained and a 5th round pick? Is that a not-so-bad idea?

That doesn't look enough to me, but yeah Pearson has ties to LA.

Maybe Pearson + 3rd?

Maybe another vet? Pezzeta+? They want grit I read.

Is there a LHD prospect available?
Many.

Jordan Harris or Jayden Struble would be my guess, but I think their value is currently higher than Kaliyev's. Maybe with a +?

There is Adam Engstrom in the SHL, but management love the kid. And Xhekaj is not available for a late 1st, so I guess Kaliyev won't cut it.

Interesting, first two replies have very opposite takes. No chance vs ties to LA but need a better pick.

How's Pearson's wrist?
Also Blake rage traded him back in the day after a bad game.

4 Goals,
4 Assist
30 games
Feel just icing Kaliyev would be better.

King's need a good goalie, not Allen. Maybe a goon that can skate.

Don't see why they trade Kaliyev. Also don't see why Kaliyev doesn't get ice time.

Pezzeta is exactly that. A goon that can skate. He is not the biggest but has a lot of heart, and won't back down from anybody. Can put it in the net sometimes as well, has a shot that can surprise goalies.

Classic energy 4th liner.

I think Pezzeta for Kaliev makes sense then.

Seems like a bad idea for someone that is 70 points in 172 games in the NHL by 22. Who knows what they're thinking.

Who is the worst forward roster player you've got? Are they 'truculent?'

If it's a terrible trade for LA, consider it done.

All aboard the S.S. Blake, iceberg dead ahead
If Montreal asks nicely, LA might toss in Byfield or Clarke.

How many must the man hit?

Phaneuf? Kovalchuk? Desjardins? Peterson? Fiala? Dubois?

Just in the last two years he has lost 5 former and future first round picks and gotten worse. Durzi for just a second? The Provorov retention deal instead of just waiting one season to buy Cal out at a favorable weight. Two awful side deals necessitated to clear space for the coup de gras, Dubois.

Imagine not only the horroble loss of assets to get them, but the massive contracts given to Fiala and Dubois before ever hitting the ice - just to see them rot out the teams culture in under 15 months.

Harris would have less value than Kali I would think. Struble might have equal?

No way i'm moving Engstrom
