Panarin said he's open to re-signing long-term with Chicago, but also said he's going to let his agent handle discussions.

Assuming his agent prices Panarin out of Chicago, what does your team offer for his RFA rights?

1st++

He would look great beside Mathews

I know someone will bring up Kessel but this isn't the same we have the centre now.

Why wouldn't Chicago simply wait for the draft picks coming from an offer sheet ?

Why wouldn't Chicago simply wait for the draft picks coming from an offer sheet ?

Crawford 31
Hossa 37
Keith 33
Seabrook 31
Hjarmarsson 29
Kane 27
Toews 28

That's why.

The Hawks don't have 3-10 years to wait on draft picks to develop into good players. They probably have about 3-5 years left in their Cup window.

They are better off to trade for players that can help them right now.

They could do that, but they traded Saad for players.

If they trade him because they can't afford him, they can't take too much salary back.

They'd be looking for a top 6 winger making 5 million or less. Younger the better, but proven.

He's not in play obviously, but Drouin would be pie-in-the-sky ideal.

This gally being Russian thing is getting old lol. He's about as Russian as I am.

More importantly is Keith really that old?!

His parents were soviets. Are we allowed to discuss politics? lol But belorussian russian or not, an all russian (speaking) top line would be insane for the habs.

Tampa has as much cap problems as Chicago if not more...

I said I was aware he wasn't in play. I was giving an example of the kind of young, affordable top 6 talent they'd ideally be after.

Ferland(middle 6 forward, gritty and has some hand skills) + Engallend*(just under 3m last year/ 5/6 guy could play top 4 for a small period, wouldn't say more then 10 games at a time or lower minutes of a #4) + 1st

are u serious? Panarin would cost Bennet or Monahan more likely Bennet++ due to cap constraints.

You have to at least try them together that's too talented a trio not to experiment with maybe it fails but I can't see that

Fair enough. Would be deadly. But trading Panarin wont be so they can line him up with Monahan. They paid deeply for that in Brouwer, no? But if it works after trying it out, the better the deal is.

2 years of RFA Ryjo. Value was Jones.

Panarin has +20 points and 2 RFA years left. The value might be Laine/Marner/Pulju +1st.

Top10 league forward prospect for top10 league forward. 1st for insurance and large difficulty finding a trade target with assets, capspace and need for high end "right now" winger.
