From the perspective of someone who loves to blame the victim, you make solid arguments. Like I said, you have no idea what their relationship is like and how comfortable she was around him. It is COMPLETELY UNFAIR to look at this situation and say « she should have seen this coming ».You can dig your feet in and choose to be blind all you want. The moment he takes her phone and says she has to come to his room to get it is the moment that ANY REASONABLE PERSON would have red flags. If you can't see that, that is your problem. Their relationship before that doesn't account for that scenario. You are just willfully ignorant at this point. I am not going to even bother with you from here on. If you remove basic common sense, you might have a leg to stand on, though. From the perspective of a moron, you might have a valid point.
Great article. Ironic that their "luxury sports team" branding is taking hit after hit.![]()
Why Are The NY Rangers Limiting Their Social Team’s Access to Players?
You don't need to care about hockey to care about this story.www.milkkarten.net

Because there is much more to the storyWhat a dirt bag.
Why wouldn’t he have been charged with assault?
I think you can have a very real debate whether you believe the full story, or you don't believe it based on lack of information and the initial investigation being made on the employee sharing prescriptions, especially after she was put on leave and unhappy about it, but talking about how the employee should know better or handle a stolen phone seems really out there.
Possibly, but given that it was settled out of court she likely signed a NDA.Because there is much more to the story
The NHL investigated, as well as an independent law firm. No discipline. Settlements and NDAs are signed all the time to avoid bad PR and legal battles. This is a nothing story.Possibly, but given that it was settled out of court she likely signed a NDA.
Doubt we get the full story unless another it happened with another person in a separate incident.
That still falls into how you view the story or lack the needed information to form a judgement you want to stand by. But the back and forth about how somebody should handle a phone situation or be taught to better handle it should be dropped. There's another option here besides believing the full story or not believing it based on a lack of information. That's believing that it happened, but being able to acknowledge that we don't understand what happened. The details we know are enough to say Panarin did wrong, for sure.
I can immediately think of a dozen scenarios where Panarin misunderstands his relationship with the woman (on him) and then does something while drunk that he immediately regrets (again, on him). Plenty of variations on all of that too, and none of which blame the woman for any of it. None of it excuses him for what he did, either, but it's vital context if you're going to sit in judgment of him as a human being.

Again, settlements and NDAs occur all the time even if you think you are innocent to avoid bad PR. The fact there was one here does not mean there was something to implicate Panarin.
Hypothetically, let's say these two had slept together previously. Panarin jokingly takes her phone and she comes to his room to get it. He thinks they are going to sleep together again, but she is not in the mood that night and leaves. Did he really do anything wrong and disgusting as so many are suggesting? No. Let's let the full story come out.
Not go to his room ALONE would be the easiest way.And I bet she realized it. What was she supposed to do, not to blow this issue up and possibly costing her job?
