Other sports don't have relegation ;)
Good point, however, Arsenal for a good month or two were in relegation form last season when we couldn't even beat Burnley. Arteta got through that Titanic moment and again I think Kroenkes' are going to put a lot of blame on Covid/injuries at this current abyss. Of course if they keep losing to the likes of Norwich and Watfords' of England then he won't be here long, but all needs to do to keep the pressure off is win against majority of the bottom half of the table which I think he will do with the talent level of Arsenal.

How would Mikel Arteta analyse this beautiful Wengerball goal? Let me guess.

”The positional play is awful, we're not massively spread out all over the pitch at all. And we should have worked the space to play Gibbs in for a cross, massive risk to give it to Ramsey there. Spread out, bozos. We have nobody to pass sideways to. Absolute suicide to have so many in the box at once if we lose the ball. I feel ill seeing risk taking like this. Positional play football is the only way to play. No overloads, no risk, no surprises, no chances, no goals. Football should be like my kitchen. If I know where the glass of water is I know where it will be and I can drink the water quicker, I don’t have to look for it.”

Obviously Arteta is an awful manager and should be sacked, but to back him with so much money over the summer and then fire him 3 games in would be even more absurd.

Edu probably realised he couldn’t pocket huge agent fees and backed off. Sorry Jude, get Kia Joorabcian to represent you and we might consider it.

Managers always provide smoke in front of the cameras, but thinking that only scoring one goal tonight against Norwich as some of the best football he's witnessed shows how unbelievably naive and out of the realm of common sense he truly is.

A nice view of the pass I talked about leading up to the goal. Partey is elite on the ball as well as defensively and people will realise that if he stays fit long enough.

I read that he only missed something like 6 total games to injury during his time at Atletico. But we somehow manage to make players injury prone, so we'll see.

For all the hate he gets, here is a key stats between the two goalkeepers.

Leno: 8 errors in 98 games that lead to goals.
Ramsdale: 3 errors in 75 games that lead to goals. Also claimed the second most crosses after Martinez in the entire league last year.

That makes me feel a little better about the signing.

I remember when Ramsdale first burst onto the scene I was pretty high on him. I hope he can live up to some of that potential.

I think it's a classic case of people laughing at the price tag more so than the actual player. Ramsdale could definitely develop into a great GK (not a given by any means), but there were options just as good out there for 1/3 of the price this summer. Similar to how nobody was saying anything negative about Ben White until he was linked with a $50M move to Arsenal.

Price tag combined with the fact that he’s been relegated twice already in his career and people obviously give him all the blame for that.

Oh please guys stap wit da victim complex. We all know the posters here make fair and non bias assessments on Arsenal players!

The problem isn't necessarily buying Ramsdale, it's how the entire events unfolded to eventually lead to us buying Ramsdale...

You have two #1 goalkeepers, Martinez didn't want to play as back up anymore so he kind of forced his way to an ultimatum, Arteta had to make the choice between the two, guessed as wrong is humanly possible, might not have Leno anymore as #1, and then had to spend extra funds for a freakin' goalkeeper. Arsenal always needed a back up one regardless of what happened, but you don't choose one goalkeeper over the other and then don't play that goalkeeper lol. I feel like I'm on crazy pills again...

They sold a better goalkeeper than both those guys. Anyway Seph is right here. They sold a keeper who will always be better than the two they currently have. You can cherry pick stats that will make any goalkeeper look good but I think it's best to mainline straight to the source:

Ramsdale

There's a whole thread here that I looked through before judging signings because I don't do that blindly if at all possible. Regardless in this case it wasn't blind because I think everyone should have seen him play a lot by now. Anyway they said he had some good games and he had some terrible games. I also remember who commented in this thread today compared Leno favorably to Alisson so take that commentary about other fans for what it's worth.

Ramsdale is 23. Martinez at the age was bouncing around being on loan in the lower leagues.

Not disagreeing that Martinez is better NOW but to say Ramsdale will never improve is also a hot take.

Lokonga has looked very good so far. Hopefully he keeps it up while Xhaka is out and we can see a Lokonga - Partey pairing.
Arteta will play Xhaka no matter the other players' performance. That's the hard truth. He named him captain and signed him to an extension. Who would do that except a blind man?
All the while showing a finger to Guendouzi and sending him away on a 11M option.

Arteta has done a better job in recent weeks. He’s been picking good lineups.

Not sure i agree. The offensive play has been pure shit against two of the worst teams in the league. Nobody's on fire at the moment. Pretty sweet freekick from Ödegaard though. But he's weak in general.

It was absurd to keep him after his first set of transfers :
- signing Willian
- not playing Saliba for 6 months then loaning him to 2 different teams
- sending Douzi away on cheap option
- shipping Martinez away only to spend big money on a worse keeper.

I don’t remotely disagree with any of that.

I’m just saying it makes even less sense to see everything that’s happened in the last couple years, say “you know what, we trust this guy with 100m+ for transfers” and then fire him a couple games in.

Take what you can get. Better lineups and two wins. If that continues, the team should eventually start to play better.
