I know I may have my tinfoil hat on here, but does anyone think they want to see what they have in Talbot this season a little bit just in case Hank decides to bolt?

Could this be posturing a little as well? You want how much? Well we have this kid coming up behind you...

Someone's been following politics.. ;)

Biron's wife has a business in western NY

Add Marty Biron's name to the list of athletes who've made their permanent home in Western New York. The former Sabres netminder moved to East Aurora last summer, where his wife has opened a home furnishing store called Four Honeybees Cottage.

"Love the area. Love the community. My kids are into football and hockey and cheerleading," Biron said.

If they are only looking to replace Asham, a 4th liner getting 5 minutes a night, with another 4th liner getting 5 minutes a night, Haley could be an option. He skates better and is a better hitter.

We already have, at a minimum, five 4th liners playing every night. I would think in replacing Ash we would go with someone who at least has a general understanding where the opponent's net is. If we are so worried about Kreider and Miller's development bring up Kristo. We know he can score and if his development gets stunted it's not a huge loss.

The use of 'break down the door' is a little too extreme when the likes of player who won out are Dorsett, Pyatt, Asham, Pouliot, etc.

I don't think is extreme. I have hopes that Miller, Kreider and Fast all are better players than Dorsett, Pyatt, Asham, Pouliot, etc. To ask them to come up and replace marginal/bad 3rd or 4th liners doesn't do a lot for me. Let them push the likes of Callahan and Hagelin down to the third line. That's a team with depth.

I just realized in this conversation that fans don't even want what they're asking for. If you want youth, and you want a rebuild, and to 'do things the right way' then we are icing a team with Miller, Fast, Kreider on it at the very least immediately.

They want to rebuild but it to last no more than a season.

If you want to go with youth and to rebuild, the answer is not rushing your top prospects so then can fill in on the bottom six. Rebuilding takes time. You're asking what in theory should be your future top six players who are not ready for those roles to come in and replace bottom six players because we don't like them. I'd rather mess with the head and careers of the vet mercenaries the GM brought in than homegrown prospects with talent and upside.

Look at the Islanders. They have a young competitive team now. That's because they stuck with having the Baileys, Okposos, etc on the pro team from the start and through their rough patches of development.

They have also stockpiled picks and have been patient with their prospects. They also have an elite franchise first line center who just turned 23. They realized the mistake they made with Nino. And rather than do out and drop UFA dollars (not that they have any), they have claimed guys off waivers who they can easily dump and aren't stuck with.

Was about to post the same thing. Hilarious and scary the desire to sign him.

Need a goalie that can play at least 20 games (well I guess 19 now). At this stage of the season that would be difficult to find without giving up assets.

I think its funny people are saying Kreider and Miller aren't ready, when AV has stated he doesn't want Lundqvist playing over 60 games. People think Talbot can handle that load and more than people think Kreider or Miller could handle a spot in the bottom six?

I didn't mind Kreider and Miller going down.

But after the San Jose game, seeing what Hertl and Nieto contributed,
and seeing us lose 4 of 5, I changed my mind

Losing with vets has no upside.

Bring up Kreider, Miller, maybe even Hrivik, let them play ahead of some of Asham, Pyatt, Pouliot, and in place of Nash till he returns.

Since it looks like Nash wont play wednesday, he should be placed on IR (7 day minimum, his last game was last tuesday) to open a roster spot short-term.

These guys have been given every opportunity to grab a spot on a deficient roster, and havent been able to grab it. What have you been watching the last 18 months?

Does these guys include Miller? He was given 26 games last year; it's not even a year since the lockout ended. As for Kreider, he was given an opportunity to play, he did some good things, so not so good things. Sounds like a rookie.

I was hoping it was in place of Boyle & Pyatt. Both are huge wastes of roster space that could be filled with actual scoring talent.

It appears Pyatt is to AV as Boyle was to Torts; his personal slow, useless minute eating crap forward. Pyatt was the forward on the ice during a 5 on 3 a couple of games ago. That tells you that he is trusted by this coach even though his ability to skate and defend is beyond suspect.

He coached him in Vancouver for 3 years...

I think Asham will not be sent down. Sather wants him to be picked. Talbot will be called up. I think Powe will get a call as well once Asham is gone.

You're probably right. We need another guy who cannot score under any circumstances. That's what will happen; no sarcasm although it reads like it.

Boyle is one of our better forwards. He played well all 5 games. Pyatt is also not to blame for our problem.

If you want to rid of someone, I suggest to axe Ulfie. It is too early for that, though.

If this is true (and it's not) we should play only kids cause we won't win 15 games and the experience would pay off in the future.

If someone claimed Ashram and Boron retires, how much would that save on the cap with Talbot and one of Kreider or Miller up?

Is Biron drunk? He could get claimed and if he doesn't he would be playing in Hartford which is not that far from home.

I think he made those comments assuming he was not claimed. May be he doesn't want to ride a bus at this stage in his life or may be he thinks he's just done.

Was it ever discovered why he missed the first few days of camp? I think it was for family reasons but no specifics. Possibly its still not resolved and its messing w his head?
