Around the NHL

The Mild are seriously a bunch of whiners. I don't see an egregious elbow on the play, it looks more like the stick hit him.
Sticks on the ice unless you're talking about bitch boy and his stick is forward , even so ...you can chin shot a player with your twig in the face without it being a penalty? Yall are freaking hilarious with your Hynes hatred. 1/2 theD is out, no Kaprizov but still top 5 in the NHL with a few of our rejects, but he's the 2nd shittiest coach in the NHL.:lol::lol::lol: Here's what I hope Bruno does for us. Nashville Predators Midseason Mock Draft: Landing Prized Prospect at No. 3

Eh I think it's a penalty but the Wild are definitely earning their whiner label the last couple days. It comes off as especially soft when they have noted cheap shot artist Ryan Hartman on their team too. Kaprizov's elbow on Carrier a couple seasons ago was way worse than what McDavid did and all he got was a minor penalty so they can spare me the histrionics.

People should start to call out the Wild for being whiners and divers if that is the way the want to play these?

I mean, there was the tiniest shrug ever by McDavid there, like he was bracing just in case the guy was going to follow through and lay him out, but there was nothing there that required going down like you were pole-axed. And the ZLH "awkard battle" was unfortunate, but not especially egregious.

I get they are a little desperate without Kaprizov, ok. But it's a bad look to be trying to get an officiating edge through the media too. :dunno:

I mean yeah he caught him with one, but I'll be damned if it didn't look like he turned into it and more or less caused an elbow. I mean he shrugged and got him, but even if he doesn't do anything the guy probably catches himself anyways.

I'll say one thing though, he looked like someone shot him in the face with a 30-06 with the way he reacted. I mean if you are Ref willing to call elbowing there you would be real tempted to call embellishment to go along with it anyways.

Thus is a risky move for the Avs, but their cap situation was rough with a Rantanen extension. I'm not high on Necas, think this is his career year and he'll slide back to normal (maybe after next year or whenever he signs his extension).

I’m actually on the contrary on this. Love Necas as a player (another one I wish the Preds would’ve been in on but obviously no) and think that he was somewhat always held back in Carolina. He’ll be awesome next to Mackinnon.

Whereas Rantanen, I think is obviously good player but I think a bit overrated. Mackinnon and Makar have always made him look better than he truly is. This season only, he also has like 20% of his points to the empty net which inflates his point totals by a good amount.

I understand this trade for both sides. COL wasn’t ready to pay Rantanen (pretty telling wouldn’t you say) and got an equal piece back. Necas was on the outs from Carolina for many years and they got a good piece back for him.

After hearing what was offered and turned down I can't blame Colorado a bit from moving on. I get he is a good player and he was offered 11.75 per season. Apparently he wanted to get paid like McKinnon, but then the only issue with that is he isn't McKinnon. He's good, but he's right under that level not on par with it.

I get the cap is rising so we are seeing salaries go up, but I can't help but feel there is a bit of teams getting ahead of themselves and a whole lot of guys are going to be on some pretty brutal contracts.

In so many ways. I just remember going to a hockey tournament there and they basically just zamboni their roads in the winter? The place is so grim in the winter. Maybe it works for football a bit? But man... not my favorite city, all apologies.
Yeah, to be honest, a lot of upstate NY is a pit (sorry BFC). Buffalo, Rochester, Albany...blah.

Understood. (So sayeth the man who currently lives 2 hrs from there.)

With a win against us Vancouver jumps over Tampa, who's now 16th and tied with Calgary and Columbus still.
Utah and Pittsburgh went to OT and Pittsburgh won with an assist from our old boy Glass, both teams now have a 7 pt cushion on us.
