I know it's been a couple of days since we send the Penguins to the golf course, but I just stumbled upon this gem:

Always thought Lucic looked like a Cro-Magnon man... His behavior and personality are not doing anything to change that impression, lol...

Habs fans are ridiculously cocky, I really hope the Rangers win this series not just as a fan but to shut those ass monkeys up

Still, I wouldn't go to the press. Just makes you look like a *****

How do we know that "he went to the press"? NBC already made a point out of this in studio, and I would imagine Weise got questioned about this in the interviews after the game, and answered the question.

IMO it´s disrespectul of Lucic to do this in the hand shakes. On the ice during the game, it´s ok, but not in the hand shake line. He needs to grow up. It´s embarrasing.

Some people would prefer, that even if questioned by the press, he give a non-answer or just say "It stays on the ice." I get that, and somewhat agree, but when another guy is publicly acting like a jackass in front of the cameras I don't really have a problem with admitting what was said. It's one thing if it was a teammte, but an opponent? In most cases I'd say it's fair game.

If Looch doesn't want Weise tattling, he shouldn't be such a ****** to begin with. I know he's frustrated, but still...handshake line. Someone should show Lucic this:

A lot of players hate losing. It doesn't mean that you have to do what Lucic did.

He played terribly in that series and for most of the post season. So there's that. Maybe if he played better than I could see it.

Also, I really hope the "Don't poke the bear" saying stops. Terrible saying.

It's entirely possible to hate losing, but magically turn into an adult when the game is over, and the handshake line forms.

Complains about goal celebrations in his post game interview?

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Were I in charge, I'd just ban him from the league, for the lulz.

You guys act like Lucic is the first to do this, you can go through playoff series every year where stuff is said on the handshake line that is none too pleasant. Big deal, Wiese could have simply said," hey we're still playing, gfy" or "that's right we'll see you next year, hahahaha". It's done and over with.

I am not condoning what Lucic said, I don't like the fact for a tough guy at time he displays very little of the tough guy code. That said, you very rarely hear about handshake line nonsense because it's still heat of the moment, adrenaline is still pumping nonsense. Most players understand that aspect and leave that crap on the ice.

Montreal was/is playing some phantom disrespect card and this fit right into that narrative. It's much to do about nothing and I am of the opinion that Lucic, while a dolt, should have had his words kept on the ice.

I have seen fights on the handshake line and then 20 minutes later they're both in the bar buying each other drinks. I have seen verbal altercations where the same thing happens. Man I have been asked to back teammates up on numerous occasions because guys were wary of something stupid happening.

Yeah sometimes people say things they normally wouldn't in those situations when cooler heads prevail. Still it's what 3 minutes after they lost, I hate losing and when I have to shake hands with some jerk or perceived jerk on the other team I am tempted to do or say something I shouldn't. That's in mens league/beer league hockey, I can only imagine the NHL.

I have no idea what I am arguing right now.....I am out.

Edit: Re: poking the bear: I have never used that saying in my life. That said, some of the most fun I have playing hockey is poking the bear, constantly and relentlessly. lol

Wow, didn't take long at all.

I think Shero is the culprit there more so than Bylsma. But I get it.

I always felt Bylsma did a good job of weathering the storm when the Pens were hit by injuries. But once most of the players were healthy, they never looked like the powerhouse they were supposed to be. Kind of frustrating that they selected this guy to coach Team USA.

Shero has made some great trades but it hasn't translated to team success since 2009. I mentioned a few days ago that the Pens could use some more character guys like they had in their 2008 and 2009 runs. Malkin, Crosby, and some of the other players on that team get rattled quite easy and they could use more of a veteran presence to get them in line.

Anytime anybody goes on about some sanctimonious ******** about the game, I roll my eyes.

It happened on the ice? You also speared someone in the dick on the ice, you neanderthal.

They don't need character guys, they need depth.

Marcel Goc is probably the only good forward on that team not named Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz, Neal and sometimes Jokinen. That's a monster 1st line and an alright 2nd line, but an awful bottom six. Bylsma had Lee Stempniak and Brian Gibbons playing with Crosby at points, too, which goes to show how weak the forward group is.

If i'm the next GM, I try and trade Neal for two guys who aren't as good as he is but give me an actual third line, and maybe a pick because Shero has been atrocious at drafting, too.

Bylsma isn't great, but he isn't really the problem. He'll go to a new team and they'll do alright.

Pittsburgh has two compliance buyouts right? Think they'll use both on Fleury and Letang? Letang's contract especially looks god awful right now.

They're without a doubt the most top heavy team in the league. They made the mistake that some football teams used to make with regard to the salary cap. They thought paying 4-5 guys at the expense of building a team would work. It doesn't.

Plus poor drafting.

Bad contracts, poor planning and poor drafting should rightfully be the fault of the GM.

They could use both.

Gary Roberts, Guerin, Gonchar, Fedotenko, Sykora, Sydor, etc., are a superior leadership group to the likes of Jokinen, Stempniak, Paul Martin, Neal, Niskanen, etc. Both Roberts and Guerin were highly spoken of for their locker room presence in their respective finals run and cup run. Right now Malkin and Crosby are the leaders and "respected" voices in the locker room. Not sure that's enough.
