Gotta just laugh that Dale Weise is having himself a postseason. Happy for the guy but from a NYR point of view, just gotta laugh.

EDIT - Upon further review, "having himself a postseason" is a very generous statement by me

For a team that can't develop bottom 6 players, chucking Weise away for nothing shows some trouble with the Rangers' roster talent evaluation.

Other than the whole thing of Subban being better than McDonagh, yea, I agree.

I'd say they are the same, but that with Staal as a #2, Subban actually fits this team's needs more than McDonagh. Brings that power play QB, offensive force to the blueline. But we know who Subban is, McDonagh may keep getting better over time.

Bit of a neither-here-nor-there argument though.

Subban is showing his worth to a contending team in the playoffs, Mac while injured, is not there yet. He is trying to keep his head above water out there, Subban is going above and beyond with a smile on.

McD is probably better D wise but PK is better O wise and that hip check. PK won a Norris. McD is looking for his first.

PK won Norris in a shortened season. Also I would've given it to Suter. Elite shutdown D-man with 32 points in 48 games.

I'd say they're on the same level. Subban is more dynamic offensively, while I'd rather McDonagh out there in the dying minutes of a 2-1 lead. I don't think the offensive gap or defensive gap is enough to put one player clearly in the lead.

Though I'll say McDonagh still has room to grow offensively. Of course, that's not to say PK has plateaued or anything, but McDonagh has room to grow into an offensive role while playing elite defense. PK has been utilized for both already in his career.

I'd rather McDonagh's sweetheart deal than the 8 mill + Subban's going to get, though.

What are you supposed to do with one shoulder? It affects your entire game.

Uhh, score 4 goals a game and shut down the opposing teams best players every night while making it look easy? Duh

I mean we're probably all frustrated with McD's bad play, but what should we have expected? The same exact McD from the regular season?

Defensively, McDonagh has been fine. Lost the puck a couple times more than he otherwise would have, but the rest is still fine.

It's his offense that has taken a huge hit. So basically we have the McDonagh of the previous two years.

Anyone think Gionta has that punchable face? I've always hated him going back to his Devils days.

Whoever compares Kreider to Pacioretty: I can definitely see the resemblance in play overall.

I thought he was fine, defensively, against the Flyers. I think he's been a liability against the Penguins.

“@DarrenDreger: Some trade discussion with teams on a number of Leafs players. Kadri, Gardiner, Bolland and Kulemin included. Leafs brass is eager to talk.”

That should've been a goal

WOW what a save by Bryz there on Sharp breakaway.

That could've been a game turner. Disallowed obvious goal on one end turns into a breakaway goal for the other team. Bryz comes up huge to keep the one goal lead.

Crawford has an awesome goalie mask!
