Whatever. Washington still sucks. If Detroit played any defense at all today they would have walked away with an easy two points.

Okay.

You sound angry and jealous.

he isn't a "beast"

he waits for a one timer from the same spot on half his goals

if properly defended, he'll rarely score that even on a 5 on 4.. wings had a guy shadowing him on PKs throughout the game and it worked great

but then its a 4 on 3 and you can't really defend it

Crosby ***** on him

JT ***** on him

Crosby vs Ovechkin is now a laughable debate

This.... ovi needs someone to give him the puck... Crosby can do it himself... which is why ovi will NEVER be the best

Thank you for regurgitating everything they just said on the NBC feed.

Also, I did not say he was the best player in the NHL.

Jimmies so rustled.

You trying to tell me I don't preach that type of defense on Ovechkin?

You think I didn't come up with those thoughts on my own?

Didn't even realize those things were said on NBC

Sorry for talking tactics and not breaking it down in stat form.. maybe you'd understand that easier.

Or maybe if I made a corny joke.

Ovechkin really is a one trick pony these days. He used to be so dominant. Now he's pretty much just a PP specialist. Works in the regular season but as we all saw last year it doesn't work well in the playoffs.

He can pile on his PP goals in the regular season

Come playoff time, tight checking.. he'll be shut down.. like he always is.

He has 31 goals and 61 points in 58 career playoff games...his only really "bad" playoff series was last year.

But he leads the league in even strength goals too.

Just over a PPG but still much lower than what he does in the regular season.

Combine that with the fact that he doesn't bring anything defensively and in recent years has racked up PP goals but isn't as dominate at ES as he used to be.

Damn, someone above me made a similar point. Guess that means me saying it isn't valid.

and even most of those seem to be on a set up one-timer.

Those goals won't go in nearly as much as the games get tighter.

He used to do a lot more than just wait on the left side for one timers.

the term you're looking for is "mcdonaghed". It's used when elite offensive talent magically vanishes against the Rangers. You can use it in a lot of ways too. F ex, you can say he "got absolutely mcdonaghed" putting the emphasis on the process of mcdonaghing or you can say he "had a mcdonaghed playoffs" putting emphasis on the effects of mcdonaghing.

15 regulation wins for the Caps.

15.

And they're 4 points back. What a ****ing joke.

Without Ovi they are literally a lottery team. Pitiful.

Can't remember how the new playoff format works. If the playoffs started today who would we play? Columbus?

Yup.

PIT-DET (last wild card spot vs top team in conference)
NYR-CBJ
-------
BOS-MTL (first wild card spot vs winner of other division)
TB-TOR

Those look intriguing. BOS-MTL would be an absolute massacre and I think if a team is able to kick out the Bruins prior to the ECF it's the Canadiens. Pit-Det would be nice too, it'd be interesting to see if Datsyuk and Zetterberg find an extra gear when they play Crosby. Obviously, the New York Bluejackets vs the Columbus Rangers wouldn't exactly be a lovefest either.

Yup. Top 3 in each division make it. Then 2 wildcards by points across both divisions.

2 seed vs 3 seed in each division play. Best 1 seed overall plays worst wildcard. 2nd best 1 seed plays remaining wildcard.

The Panthers have a legitimate chance of ending the season with not a single player hitting 40 points. Now, if that isn't a modern era record for a full length season, it's extremely damn close.
