1-2-0 vs NJ and we got kinda lucky in our win

2-0-1 vs the rags and the rags were lucky all the games went to OT

1-2-0 vs NJ and we got kinda lucky in our win

2-0-1 vs the rags and the rags were lucky all the games went to OT

Experience? I think the knock on NYR is that they’re inconsistent, and basically should be better than they showed against us. Meanwhile Devils are a young team that played the whole season like their hair was on fire. I’m a bit surprised to see rags put it together, but they’ve been here before, most of devils haven’t.

I choose the Rags. I felt their goaltending would be the x factor. Plus, I felt this would be a learning year for the young Devils squad. The series is still young, though!

Re: NYR-NJD series. I've only been scoreboard watching, minimal highlights in AM before work, busy this week in evenings, so haven't seen games.
Points standings differential wasn't that great between the two teams, so not really surprised at 2-0 Rags given their experience.
Seems like some, but not full, agreement on that experience factor between the lot of you below. Question at bottom...

Didn't want to put this Q on the Devils board, but...

What's the view of Ruff in New Jersey? Devils are young and growing. They'll get organic improvement, so even if this year was somewhat a fluke improvement, they are likely up there again next year (playoff team top 3 in Metropolitan).

Anyone know Ruff's deal term? If the Devils make a quick exit is he potentially out (forcibly or voluntarily)? Would anyone want him back in BUF as a Granato assistant (defense, and/or special teams)?

I'd really love to see an implosion and meltdown in Toronto, but watching TB get injured, older, and knocked out is just as enjoyable. It's a no-lose scenario really.

At first I wanted Toronto to win the series, but now I think I want to see them lose in the first round again just for the hilarity and Dangles reaction. I'd be ok with Tampa losing in the 2nd round.
