I'm beyond excited about Levi and Kulich but I would have liked to see Reinhart stay with this coach and team.
We saw a glimpse of what he would've became when Granato shifted him to center. Thanfully, we got a good return in the trade!

The Habs are watching a pick that looked like a lottery pick not too long ago march to the doorstep of pick 29-32. Just like we did with the Blues pick. They’ll probably draft a guy who will sign though so the comparison kind of stops there.

Aside from the need for a scumbag (or two), this series crystalizes for me how far the Sabres have to go in terms of physicality, body checking and just overall intensity to be able to compete in the post-season.
Truer words never spoken. Dahlin is the Sabres main grit player with Krebs following close behind as a pest. Samuelsson is a great physical presence but I'm not sure he has enough nastiness in his body.

Sabres as present are built for the regular season and not yet for the playoffs.

Leafs window is closing fast too. Next year Nylander gone to free agency. Tavares isn't getting any younger and Matthew after next year could walk to Arizona. On top of that their prospect pool is trash.

Ouch.

Happy for Rhino, but at the same time so glad we got what we did back in that trade.

”the Sabres don’t have the physical game needed for the playoffs”

*watches Sam Reinhart of all people skate through an entire team and score*

Must be because Florida dominated the face off circle. I’m just going to trust that and not look it up.

And they have almost no draft capital (currently) to rebuild. They could, of course, trade some of their players to gain more. But we'll see.

Yeah Bruins/Leafs/Lightning have no draft capital for yrs. Red Wings/Sens/Sabres will be replacing those 3 sooner rather than later.
