Down go the Aves!

Down go the Aves!

Grubauer 33 saves on 34 shots against his former team.

Damn seeing Montour stings a little. We gave up on him too soon. 5 goals and 3 assists in 7 games. I remember half way through the season mentioning him Chainshot saying his stats were a fluke because he was getting extra minutes when Ekblad was injured. I didn't think he would keep it up either.

stomach of giant parasitic worm

he didn't win.

his and the teams record since his return..Is. 0 and three..

he is/was a great player.. BUT . This proves, once again, the gap between faster skating qnd processing kids that idolized Patrice and pals are very close i. skill and situational awareness..
Playing hurt , beside the emotional lift that accompanies is a huge drop off, must be addressed honestly w each player in camp. It give a team lift or a false sense of possible victory as the last shifts of the first until the end handicap a team. This is a coaches mistake especially up in a series..

A rough one to hindsight Us, Buff , tuch , elevated team after injury starting second game. Dahlin prob needed to be there but so many oloffson to Thompson should sit as young and
hungry is prob a better decision..
Hopefully that us BUFFALO goal across the board.. Rochester interchangeable depth w excitement until injured is a close to full production. Bills , healthy full go as you'll be picked on and exposed anyway.

Give me a healthy hungry guy unless an all star, josh over a hurt player, easily quantified by dressing and platooning a player... Boston dominated most if series, Marchand was completely off.. I see the false heroics backfire a lot w older vets..

Only heroic if they won, if not, he shouldn't be playing.

Go Dallas in the West I guess.
Haha. I was just thinking the same thing. With a Homer “I guess” at the end.

There's a real case to be made that Tampa outplayed Toronto in 5 of the 6 games of the series. If Samsonov plays more like he usually does and Bob plays well.......Florida can absolutely win.

I don't think they do....but they can.
It honestly looked like Toronto was holding things in the tank until like 10 mins in the game. Kept the games close, Then they pressured and Tampa seemed to tire out. I too felt Tampa was the much better team.

No. No it is most certainly not. We went 1-3 against Florida this season for a reason --- they're the better team.

And they played their best hockey in this seseries.
Yeah. They underachieved during the regular season, but they're a talented squad. Im not sure I came away from any game against them thinking we outplayed them.

Carolina is the most recent cup winner in the playoffs. NJD and them are the only ones that have won this century. The powerhouses are gone which is kinda nice and hopefully signs of things to come.
This was my take-away. Teams on their way up, other teams on their way down.

I hate Matthew Tkachuk and wish he found an early exit.
That game winning goal was all on Tkachuk. Until the Sabres find a guy (or 2 or 3) like that willing to go to the front of the net, take the punishment and screen the goalie, they will not be deep playoff competitors.

Seattle and Florida proving why just getting in is worth it. Hopefully Adams takes note. This time.
Maybe not the thread for this, but I don’t recall Adams ever saying there was no value to getting in the playoffs.

Not that their defense wasn't part to blame but vasilevakiy was pretty garbage up until the last 2 games. They still lost game 6 when he played good enough, but he really gave the team little chance games 2-4 and wasn't that great in game 1 either.

Adams was asked about it on Seravelli's podcast and his answer made it sound like Montour wanted to leave, one way or the other.

I hate Matthew Tkachuk and wish he found an early exit. In fact I hope he never wins anything in his career while his dad blows hot air to any radio station that will listen about the team around him not being good enough.
He's a top 5 player in the NHL... can't believe posters scoffed at the idea of grabbing him when he was available
