Exactly. Some guys on here lose sleep over what cap space we may have in 3 years. There is always an out. This is why GM's get paid well. They are already thinking ahead if things don't work out. Leddy is a better player than most people think btw. Detroit may unload him in another trade. The Isles will absolutely miss him though.

Does anybody know how much Seattle will need to pay Price for the upcoming season ? Does his bonus get paid by the Habs before he gets selected or does Seattle have to pay the huge bonus due him and then have a discount on him next season ???? He is an expensive goalie for the upcoming season if the bonus is in play .

Honestly, at this point I would love to see Seattle absolutely f*** the Habs by taking Price. I would also love to see the meltdown from Habs fans.
While Tarasenko isn't what he used to be, for free he would be a stellar addition for Seattle.
Starting a team with those two, wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Seattle should take Price. They will sell tickets anyway but having Price should help the business a lot.
bonuses normally get paid at the start of the new nhl year which is the 28th and after the expansion draft. sea would be on the hook for the rest of his contract.

It certainly is interesting though with Price ...lot of stories in the wind and some intricate 3 way trade proposals and cap crap stuff on the go. Even heard Weber picked by Seattle...then dealt to Nashville and picks going in all directions to even things out...and then no Cap Recapture penalty for Nashville ! That's a dandy one right there . Plus...add in Mrs. Price story on Instagram....who knows ?

Carey price has nothing but misery left for him in Montreal...if he was smart he would get out . They will go downhill next season...no way they will repeat what they experienced this season. Price is getting older....and his play will drop off and he will likely be the goat shortly enough with that contract in a losing season .
