Haha, I actually already made a mental note on this subject, ‘hm check what is going on here before posting that again’ because once on nhl tonight there was LDs exactly all over the place.

Not being from New York, I dislike Tampa much more than the Islanders. The Piles hate on this board has rubbed off on me a bit, but not so much that I've forgotten the Tampa board's poll calling us a farm team.

I want the Isles to make the final and then get repeatedly violated by whoever comes out of the West.

And who knows, maybe they end up being big buyers at the deadline next year, if they make the final, because they think they're good now.

I really got the feeling the Islanders are the only team that is actually trying to win this thing. The Capitals were on vacation and couldn't care less about hockey. Half of the Blues team was still feeling the after effect from COVID

Tampa is trying hard too. They know this is their best shot. Teams like Washington and St. Louis were just going through the motions so they could get back home.
 
This is Tampa's cup to lose. They learned from last year and it has shown with how they ousted Boston. Their depth is just unreal. Unfortunately I think the one team that could stop them is the Isles. The Isles are patient, resilient, and execute on their chances. They remind me a lot of the 90s Devils teams. I still think Tampa takes the series but I wouldn't be surprised if the Isles give them a good fight.

That's one of the reasons I'd rather have had the Bruins beat the Lightning. No way though I could root for the Islanders---I hate the Flyers but even with it playing on our draft positioning I couldn't bring myself to root for the Islanders to win. I was kind of non committal on that series. The Flyers were a dead team in game 7 though--thoroughly outworked.
 
Call me crazy but with no Stamkos and a less than 100% Kuch, I think the stanky fish take the first game.

Trotz will have a game plan.

Book it bitches lol

I’m torn on this. Half of me agrees with you and half of me thinks that the Western teams remaining have been so physical and heavy that Tampa is going to have a very rude awakening. I’m pulling for Dallas regardless. This first game will be interesting to see.
 
Friggen Tampa better not shit the bit here. They should on paper win this series in 6 and maybe 7.

Point is like a mini MacKinnon withought the bull like body. He is the best player on both teams and he needs to continue his awesome play. Vasilevsky needs to show why when he's on his game, he's the best goalie in the world.

All that said, I'm nervous as all heck that the Islanders are going to take tonight's game and the agida for all of us will begin and it won't end till the Islanders get sent out of the bubble. I'm firmly convinced that whoever wins this series is winning the Cup so Tampa has to do the job no matter how tough a series the Islanders give them.

If not, tho an asterisk likely attached, the Islanders will have won a Cup before we did and that too me is unconscionable. So hook us up Bolts and do the right thing!!

You are worrying too much. Nobody hates the Piles more than me. They are not going to win the cup.

I don’t know that you need to worry so much, but if any team was ever going to luck into a Cup, asterisk or not, it would be the Islanders grinding a team to sleep, playing the most undeserving but effective hockey imaginable.
